Second date and advice

Q: I grew up christian, but when I turned 18 and entered adulthood I fell from my faith. I bounced around from relationship to relationship, and now sex doesn't have any value anymore for me. I know I can't change my past or the mistakes I've made, but how can I make sure I'm fighting temptation and abstaining? I want to do good by God but I'm struggling. I went out with this very sweet man earlier this last week, and we have a second date planned for tomorrow. He's a professing Christian but we haven't had a solid conversation on faith, so I'm not exactly sure where he is in his walk with God. How can I best start a relationship without sex? I'm not really sure what I have to offer him, but he's been adamant that he just wants to spend time with me. I'm worried he'll lose interest. I'm just very confused. A: The good news is, If he loses interest he isnt for you. Dont fear over that, it's simply a way to eliminate bad suitors 🙂✨...

Things you are in disobedience of by not being a member of a local church, and being active there

Since Covid era many young people are questioning if they have to go to the church physically. The answer is yes . As a Christian you love God and his people. You cannot rightly say you love God and His people if you are not where the Church gathers.  It has always been unfathomable to be Christian and not be a in the local church. If you are saved you are in the body of Christ, and the hand cannot function without the body. You have a place in the local church and are to be there. If you look at Scriptures, besides the fact that God had shown us those who are His are aet apart [example being Nation of Israel, they went to Temole and synogouge every week], in the New Testament you see [the same example] those who heard the Gospel message and got saved were baptized and added to the local church. They were given gifts by the Holy Spirit that were for in the local church, to serve God there and the people. You cannot use your gifts if you are not in the church, and you are not storin...

Backslider fears they're not saved nor to be saved

Q:I’m starting to worry that I’m not one of the people God has called. I DO want to restore our relationship after backsliding and i am trying to restore it but it’s like I can’t feel conviction anymore. I have fasted a couple times. It’s like I feel like my heart isn’t fully devoted to Him and it worries me. I’m starting to read His Word again and talk to Him more but I struggle so bad. I know it says to walk by faith not by sight but it’s hard because it scares me. Only God truly knows if I’m saved. I know that some Christians won’t make it to heaven. What if I’m one of them? It’s like I’m trying to hear His voice, I’ve called out to Him to speak to me but it’s hard for me to hear Him. I have even asked for Discernment and Wisdom. I feel like I’m failing Him because of it all. I don’t want to fail Him. A: Have you obeyed and embraced the Gospel ? We are saved when we get right with God. So just do that, and you will be right with God. If you have but are not sure if you are saved , g...

Modesty guidance request

Image
My boyfriend and I have been together for 2 years. We have both grown up in Christian families, however grew away from God and have only in the past year reconnected with Him. He has strong opinions about what I should wear to prevent other people to sin. For example, he is against me wearing shorts, skirts and dresses that aren’t knee length.  He has a stronger relationship with God than I do, and says he feels convicted when I wear things above my knee. I have always thought I was a modest girl, this is the first time I have been told I dress immodestly. I wear shorts and skirts out of comfort. I don’t like the way I look with jorts on as I feel like I look like too masculine. I am happy that he feels comfortable enough to express his concerns with me, and I know changing what I wear is technically a small action. I also understand that women are called to submit to their man.  But I want to ask if I should do what he says and stop wearing anything above the knee because he ...

Sins among believers

Repenting and have Faith is one thing happening at one time; it is two parts of the same coin. That's why repentance is connected to and required as part of salvation. It seems two things, but it's one. It all happens at the same time. It isn't what you choose to do with your sin. When you changed your mind about yourself and put your faith in Christ, you changed trajectory. Your on a new path. It's a full radical change. You're a new person with a new mindset.  So when someone who is professing Christ as their Savior sins against us, how do we deal with forgiveness? We as believers are to have a repentant attitude, to turn from sin when it's brought to our attention. Being grateful someone brought it to our attention, And should as one living in holiness, be desiring to constantly seek , kill and have victory over our sins. So if someone sins against us, we need to go right away, to resolve it. Being wise, loving, patient and using self control. To bring it to ...

Believers and Divorce; Are remarried believers hellbound?

Q: So is everyone that is remarried (unless the other spouse cheated) are bound for hell with no way to recover? A: The Bible does not teach this. Our sins are forgiven when we obey the Gospel of Jesus and are instantly converted by God into a new creation. Only the unsaved are hellbound.  Verses related to topic: Matthew 19:6  "So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." Malachi 2:16 "The man who hates and divorces his wife, says the Lord, the God of Israel, does violence to the one he should protect," says the Lord Almighty. "So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth." "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Matthew 5:27-28 “Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God...

Afraid to read Revelation

Q: I am afraid to read Revelation . Can you share about it to ease me into it, and help me not avoid reading it? A: Revelation is a good book. And there's is good reason for it being the last book of Scripture or last special revelation God has given to us.  For Christians, Revelation is about " Joy ", not an apocalyptic creepy book. It's showing us Jesus is soverign, it's all going according to plan, Jesus is on His Throne, his plan to build the church will be completed... and he will bring us redeemed out of this fallen world of sin and suffering and into eternity to evermore be with Him.  You can do a good study through Revelation here. It is important to understand the context and what the symbology in it means, so def go thru the Revelation series. 😊 God bless.  Related

New believer struggles in believing Scripture

Q: New Believer. I was baptized a couple months ago and I just feel overwhelmed when it comes to reading the Bible. I ask God to help me understand what I'm reading, but everytime I read something my brain automatically goes to "how could this be true". I want to believe, I know that I can believe. I just don't know.... I'm feeling a little lost. A: God provided a miracle at your salvation by radically transforming you into a new creation. He said in Scripture why we need to & how someone gets saved, and how their life looks once saved, so that already is a huge indication you can trust God's Word.  Simply Trust that what God revealed in the Bible is the authoritative truth from God, will help any light unbelief you're experiencing or I should say your concerns over the Reliability of Scripture.   These can help:  Can you Trust the Bible , by America's Pastor Is the Bible True , by Wess Huff, ( 411 ) Why we believe the Bible is true  Why you Can Tr...

Live in bf w kids says we're married cuz we had sex. What is the truth?

Q:I have a sincere question that’s been bothering me. Is there anywhere in the Bible that says you are considered married through spirit?  My partner is 5 years knows a lot about the Bible it seems, yet we argue about this.. he calls me his wife and I’m expected to call him my husband. He got upset when I told him "I think we are sinning or living in fornication because we aren’t married and living together /had kids out of wedlock". But he keep saying that we are married because 'we have been made as one'....even though we didn’t say any vows to God or each other. Can you help me so I know what to do here.  A: Without vows officiated by pastor or other authority authorized person by the govt, (like a justice of the peace), there is no covenant marriage made with God, so you technically are not married and it seems like he’s trying to use the Bible as a manipulation tactic to avoid you gaining legal protections afforded to a spouse.  Why buy the cow when your getting ...

Angry at God for miscarriages, jealous trans friends having babies & and about suffering

Q: I have been having an extremely difficult time mentally and religiously. I had never really been religious at all but last year… I started trying to find my way to God. I went to church, I prayed, I read the Bible.  I was trying SO hard. There was a point in all of that where I felt like I was extremely happy with where I was in my religion. I even took a friend to church with me (not religious at all) because they were having a hard time and I wanted them to experience what I had experienced. (They said they liked it but never went back).   I had always had a hard time with religion because I’ve struggled with infertility for multiple years, now. I was putting that in Gods hands, as well. Gods plan. It was all amazing until November. I had a mental breakdown. I started having nightmares and visions of me doing horrible things. December hit, that same friend I took to church with me announced their pregnancy. They are transgender and were only 17 at the time so I, of c...

Dating and sexual sin; repented but concerned not wracked with guilt over it

Q: So I rededicated my life to Christ almost a year ago. Will save the testimony for another time, but sexual sin was something I struggled with for a long time and I thought I had conquered it.  I've done everything right to the best of my knowledge to live holy. I've fasted, prayed, involved in bible study, church, etc. I see a change, but struggle as a new believer. I've also talked to God about wanting a husband and believed it will happen.  Now, I meet someone who seems great. He has a relationship with God but is a little more rougher around the edges than I am, but he seems a dream.  Well, we both let the sin of lust overtake us and I am in this place of knowing we shouldn't have fornicated. And feeling like I need to talk to him and explain that I want to wait, but the problem is 😬😕 I am not wrecked with conviction like I feel I should be?? It's really strange bc I thought I had cultivated a close relationship with God. So shouldn't this be more painf...

Thoughts on if our animals in Heaven ?

It isn't something we will need, but on the New Earth it is possible new animals will be there, for the ecosystem. It will be interesting to find out. As to the idea of our pets in Heaven, is not likely reality. They served their purpose on earth. And we won't remember the former things from here, (as a grace).  Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  1 Corinthians 2:9 "But, as it is written, 'What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him.'" Our focus will be on Jesus, & being with Him.  This discusses the topic further: Animals in Heaven? Praying for Pets? Hope it helps 😊✨️✝️ Related Resources for Believers

Warnings on seeking demonic help thru Witchcraft, Necromancy/Mediums/Speaking to the dead, Divination, Signs, Tarots, etc

These are not things Christians seek out. We have the complete Word of God; the special Revelation God gave to humanity - the Bible. Divine information to help, counsel and guide us. All we need for life and faith are found in its pages.  Witchcraft, Sorcery, Divination and Necromancy and all these things as Sxripture repeatedly speaks against, are not what we get involved in. It is all wickedness and of Satan. God's children do not seek out the darkness. We have God's Word, godly counsel from believersvsnd leaders at church to help us, an d biblical counselors who guide us to the truths revealed in Scripture, so we hear God and follow that righteous counsel.  Lev 18:10-12 says these demonic things are an abomination to God, and is very serious  sin if you do it ->> it is rebellion towards God . See also Galatians 5:19-21, Revelation 9:21 and Revelation 18:23, as well as many other Scriptures on this topic. Christians are not to seek out these things, but only what...

What churches don't share their faith?

Q: I am trying to understand my faith better but i do not want to evangelize. I don't want to spread my beliefs to others. What denomination does this fit with? A: There are no Christian denominations that avoid sharing the Gospel of Christ. But, theres false churches, sects, cults and religions masqurading as Christian, but they're ruled by the satanic system; outside of the Faith. You don't want to align with doctrines of demons.   Jesus gave us believers our marching orders/job when he left. To fullfill the Great Commission.  Matthew 28:19-20 (The Great Commission): Jesus said:  "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. It's a privilege to be "a messenger of God", and as Scripture calls us"a royal priesthood of the Saints." "Proclaiming the ...

Why do unsaved people display what appears the Fruit of the Spirit?

Q: Paul in Gal 5 lays out the Fruit of the Spirit.  I know many non Christians who have those characteristics and a lot of Christians who don’t. Could you explain this so I understand it?  A: Many ask this question. I'm glad you did. It will help others curious about it too. Being made in God's image, we were originally all possessing the Communicable attributes of God in perfection. However after the Fall man has a distorted version in the sin nature, until saved. There will be elements of it the unsaved have; they use the moral bits (they haven't seared in their conscience) for evil not to God's glory. Its idolatrous morality they live in. Not righteous perfection. Even believers who are redeemed, though we are restored in redemption, it isn't to perfection (so to speak) as we're stuck in this sin stained body. When we leave it behind for glory [heaven] well be free of it and recieve a perfect new body for for a eternity in righteousness. Upon entering eternit...

Pastor refuses to do a funeral service bcuz of cremation

Q: What does the Bible say about cremation? We can’t afford a full funeral service for a family member and cremation is the cheapest option but our church doesn’t recognize cremation so they won’t do a small service due to our decision to cremate. For two hrs of visitation, a casket to rent to show the body, cremation afterwards, bury the urn, is about $14k. A: This can help. Consider showing this to the pastor and asking him to reconsider. He may never have thought about this.  If your a member at a church, they usually do the service free. They shouldn't charge for that. There are areas you can skip $ on like viewing at mortuary, etc. And at church service, can just focus on the person's life, if saved, you can focus on God in his life.  If the church part is not happening, you can just do (whats done by a pastor at grave site) at the home or hall where food fellowship time happens, with the urn there, as a memorial service. Keep it focused on a God (and share the Gos...

Pedophiles in the Church?

If you were attending a church for 3-6 months, then sought membership as a family, but were told during the membership process that there was a pedophile in the church, what would be your response? And piggybacking off that question:  When should a church disclose to families that there is a know pedophile in the church? Final note:  Imagine that the restrictions for this individual are minimal. Something akin to “everybody watches him, so we don’t need designated individuals following him around when he’s wandering around the church.” 👀 PS:  I am in no way, shape or form saying that a pedophile can’t be saved and changed through the gospel. A: I would say for Pedophiles and Rapists the same policy should be in place at a church. Pastor does need to announce from pulpit so all congregation knows as soon as leadership decided to allow him there. And go to new visitors with youth/women who attend right away so they know, well before a membership class! At leaderships accep...
