Do people have good in them?

Image
A conversation with a woman about not being unequally yoked, and avoiding "friendships" with men [particularly unsaved ones] led to a convo about mankind being sinful and that theres no good in them. It is good to grasp this, esp with false gospels and false beliefs in "Christiandom" today.  Questioner:  I believe humans are kind, full, and wonderfully made, that are capable of feeling and caring for others. It makes me so so sad that all you see when you look at men as evil with evil intentions. [Gaslighting] I'm so sorry for what appears is bitterness in your heart. But I will never believe that, and I don't think God would want you to view his children that way either. [Gaslighting] You must live such a sad life. I'll be praying for you, and I hope you seek help, from both God and possibly a professional. Christian: Humans are made in God's image and are valuable because of that, and redeemable because of Christ, however they're only evil doe...

Thinking about getting baptized

Q: I'm thinking about getting baptized. A: That's good. It's our 1st act of obedience to God, after we get saved.  Here are a few things to understand:  It is a public testimony that not only shows we align with Christ, but is a symbolic testimony showing we died to self in the death of Christ and rose to new life in His resurrection. If you misunderstood baptism , and haven't got saved yet, this explains how. Once that's taken care of you can go to the pastor at a local Bible Christian church and begin the process for fruit check, baptism classes and then complete the Baptism ordinance.  Related Resources for Believers

So much going wrong

Image
All kinds of things wrong  Q: I could really use your prayers or advice 🥲  My life has been challenging since moving to the U.S. 5 years ago when my mom remarried. I've faced homelessness, constant instability, depression, attempted suicide, abuse by my stepfather, constantly stressed because I have to be the sort of care giver for my mother (since she is an alcoholic), and I haven't been able to pursue a career well, because I'm always struggling to make ends meet. I recently got laid off from work and surviving I’m down to $0 and still have to take care of my little brother.  I make mistakes but feel like I’m constantly being punished. Yes I sin and make mistakes but I try to work throughout them after I became a believer. I often wonder why I'm going through so much suffering, especially when I see others my age living their best lives. I recently got baptized and am working on my relationship with God, but ...I am so close to giving up. Help. A: Remember.... ...

OT is hard to get through. Help!

Image
Hard time Reading the OT.  Q: How do you do to read in the Old Testament? Whenever I try to read a book in the O.T, I never finish it because it's always too complicated for me to follow. There are too many nouns (cities, characters, tribes, etc) to remember and it makes the reading very unpleasant and difficult. I feel like I don't have the intellectual capacities to get through a book of the O.T. How do we read the Bible and get anything useful out of it as well as get through books?? A: I actually had the same problem in the beginning, but also because back then we only had the archaic kjv language so it was double difficult! Today we have modern laguage versions of Scripture. Yay🎉 My suggestion for a new reader is: to Listen through the OT using a dramatization audio Bible .  As you listen through, focus on the key stories. Somewhere in front or back of a good Bible it shows the main stories by book and chronologically by key person/story. Focus on those...

Navigating unsaved family relationships with your children

Q: I grew up in a household where we did not attend church, did not follow Christ, Pray, etc. I spent my 20s partying and acting like tomorrow is promised. I am a saved Christian and living a good Christian life.  I've invited my mother to church, when talking with my siblings about my church or anything related to God's word, and I receive the same response "if that's your thing" from them.  I feel like I am growing further away from my family members as I grow closer to Christ. My children enjoy going to church, but when my siblings or mother come around...I feel like my kids change their perspective about attending church and God's word. How to dealt with this? Am I wrong for wanting to shut my family completely out of my life? They speak negatively, saying I've changed and I'm not fun anymore. I am not the same person I used to be. I stopped drinking, I stopped partying, etc. They expect me to be that same person, but not accepting the person I am ...

Is it ever okay to cut someone out of your life (1)

Here are some resources to help. If it's family you really can't and shouldnt do that. But if it's others it depends, be wise and well thinking before acting.  You can limit gatherings to holidays and a coffee outing sometimes. You want to have a foot in the door to minister to them, and pray for Gospel convo opportunities. If they're on social media and see your posts you can also post there Right mindset, Grace, Love Forgiveness Is it ever ok to cut someone out of your life Dealing with toxic or manipulative people How to be an effective Peacemaker How to grow in being more sympathetic Should we cut off unequally yoked friendships These will help. Ultimately sinners will behave as sinners, and only God can transform them. So we have to be patient and loving Also make sure to kill & conquer sin in your life so you can be a light shining in the darkness, to draw them, and mature in the Faith.   God bless Further, grow in Faith so they can see Christ in you and so ...

Love letters communication illustration

Q: I’ve always had faith, but I haven’t been on the Christian path like I should be. I dont go to church and I dont pray. I am worried that God doesn’t come into my life. I want to really try to live right. Helps? A: Avoiding Bible and prayer is 1. What the unsaved do [even if they profess but live as idolators], 2. what leads to problems in actual believers lives; robs their joy, makes them anxious and full of worry & fears... and they driftvinto a sinful life. Not reading the Bible, not praying and not going to church are not behaviors of a believer. It is possible you obeyed the Gospel and have been saved but are a weak believer. Perhaps you are not saved but thought you were. You need to examine yourself to find out, and go from there.  A: Let's look at this illustration... You have a fiance whom you love and you delight in writing letters to communicate your thoughts, feelings and desired hopes. Your betrothed writes you love letters and you anticipate getting to the nex...

Once Saved always Saved? Can salvation be lost?

Image
Once saved always saved?  ...Is this belief a license to sin?  No it isnt a liscense to sin for those redeemed. Anyone transformed by the Holy Spirit is not looking for a license to sin. They hate sin & live in righteousness. They conquer sin. They like Paul hate when they stumble into sin and await rid of this body stained by it, upon stepping into eternity. John 5:24 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit already , at Penticost, remember?  The Holy Spirit converts and indwells us the moment of Salvation. If we are saved.... we have the Holy Spirit, the Son and the Father.  1 John 5:11-13 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not l...

Family was hurt yrs ago by church, now wants relationship with God

Q: I grew up going to church but after the pastor and everyone judged my mom and made her feel unwelcomed and uncomfortable we all stopped going. Its been roughly 15yrs since I’ve gone to church and I want to get back on the path of rebuilding my relationship with God.  I don’t remember really reading the Bible growing up so I have no idea where to start and I’ve googled the best way to begin reading it but I keep getting mixed answers. Can someone point me in the right direction? Please and thank you 🥰 A: Here is my advice. 💕 1. Ensure you are both saved (short vid) 2. Here are simple recommendations for reading Scripture . 3. Things to understand about church and a directory to help you find one .  Healing after Church hurt  God bless

How, why & when do I submit to my husband

Q: We attend a new Church. We are fairly new to this denomination. Our Pastor is male. My husband is learning to step up and become the spiritual leader God intends. Last night we had a discussion re: female pastors/preachers being forbidden and women remaining silent while in Church. I do often "interact " during the message... Affirming my agreement, etc. Other women in Church do the same.  I sorta asked Pastor about it last week, as I don't intend to be a distraction. He didn't seem to mind it.   I also listen to female preachers on YT. Now suddenly husband encouraging me NOT to do these things.  Curious about this 🤔. Can I get advice?? A:  The verses stated here address this issue very clearly.   1 Timothy 2:12-14  I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. [13] For Adam was formed first, then Eve; [14] and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.  The p...

New believer, but husband has anomicity towards my faith & tries to stop me going to church

Q: I got married 5 years ago, at the time I wasn’t a Christian and neither was my husband. Now I’ve started to return to faith, but I’m finding it hard because my husband thinks it’s dumb to believe in God or go to church or read the Bible. Any time I bring it up I’m told I’m naive, stupid, foolish etc. I know divorce isn’t an option, but what do you do in this situation? I go to church alone but I’m tired of feeling judged when I’m asked why my husband doesn’t come. I’m also tired of fighting every single Sunday about why I want to go to church. We fight before I go, he blows up my phone while I’m there and we fight when I get back. I just don’t know what to do. A:  You have to remain unequally yoked as Scripture says. Live godly, grow more in the faith and live that out in front of him.  Here are helps: 1. Videos you can share (to watch and discuss with him) about God.  2. Share to him this link   4 ways God reveals Himself 3. Share  The Gospel clearly presen...

Baptism concerns & sin

Image
Q: I have few questions as I been Christian for awhile now does people who won’t get baptized won’t go to heaven? Does God gets mad if we reject being baptized I just feel like it’s not time yet as I still struggle and have doubts I feel like it would be better if my relationship with him is stronger than I have right now I pray everyday I read the bible everyday the enemy attacks my mind sometimes I think evil thought out of nowhere and I know it’s not me thinking that I feel like sometimes I can’t control my mind it just comes the enemy attacks me a lot lately giving me anxiety and think about my traumas and pain that I’ve experienced in my life but even tho he attacks me I pray and have faith I ask Jesus to help me and the Holy Spirit and the attack goes away for awhile and I’m in peace again. Then out of nowhere it comes back again I struggle with this for weeks.  Now I feel like I’m so weak but I’m not giving up I keep fighting against it because I love Jesus so much. And he ...

Can former violent criminals be allowed in church

Q: Is the church open to welcoming rehabilitated individuals who have committed serious offenses, like sexual predators and murderers, to take part in church activities? A: Well are they genuinely born again? We need to be wise, use discernment and have a period of years to watch if they have the fruit of salvation.  There will need to be high precautions in place even in church worship, Sunday school and fellowship/activities. Not letting guard down.  Beyond that, for the safety of the congregants, the kids teens and women, they would have a proper background check, and depending on the issue -be limited in areas of serving. Not alone with kids teens and women, and other limitations. Due to the consequences it is what it is to ensure no falling back into prev or other crimes. They would not be allowed in any leadership or teaching position either, nor in charge of anything nor given any authority.  The church leaders must have such a policy or you should leave that churc...

Helping Atheist bf come to salvation

Image
Q:  My atheist boyfriend has started praying! The last 6 months he’s been praying at dinner and at night with me every day, mainly for healing for my medical condition. Before we met, he’d never opened a Bible and never prayed. Now watch sermons and read verses together a few times a week, talking about God daily because it’s a real passion of mine: faith.  He even prayed, “God if you’re real show me yourself in a miracle so that I know” because this is his personal, impactful way he would come to believe in God.  So far no big “miracle” has happened and he doesn’t feel God has made Himself known through prayer or in any way. But he isn’t staunchly against God, just has no faith.  I’m so terrified of me dying one day and him never believing, and us never seeing each other again in heaven; in him going to hell.  What do I do? Just keep praying and studying together? A: Ok. This is nice. But please help him realize there is no guarantee for healing and...

Why Jews reject Jesus

Image
Why Jews reject Jesus Q: A genuine question, I dont mean to ask to be hateful to Jewish people at all, I just really cant get my head around it. I can understand Jews from Jesus’ time not believing in Him, I mean this was a new person reported to be the Son of God, which in fairness, would be doubtable for those who had not met Him or witnessed Him. But I don’t understand how Jewish people today can deny Jesus being the Son of God. The Old Testament (which, though in a different order and having a different name for Jewish people) points to the coming of Jesus (or the Son of God) in several places. Googling it, I found a list of 47 times Jesus has been prophesied about in the Old Testament. How can they deny Jesus with so many indicators of Him in the Jewish Bible/Tanakh? As I said, I really am not asking to sound hateful, I just want to understand, if there is an answer? Idk A: Your question is thoughtful, and it's clear that you’re trying to understand this deeply. The issue...

We Fall-o-ween JESUS! 🎃

Dear Protestant born again believer, Every day belongs to the Lord. Satan does not own any day. Halloween for our family is all about loving our neighbors. It’s the only day our neighbors have their doors open to us and allow us all to minister freely to them.  Working through holiday issues is not a salvation issue, no matter how many people try to say that it is one. Ive found from the many conversations had on this that the ones that say it is, typically object to all holidays. The truth is they simply just are uneducated about it,  and also... far too many fear Satan instead of God.   The Bible is clear, we have the freedom to follow our convictions with regard to holidays. God’s word says to avoid every *form* of evil, and to love your neighbor as yourself... so consider this: Dressing up in bible costumes - not evil Going door to to meet your neighbors - not evil Handing out candy & tracts to neighbors who come to you door- not evil Walking around wi...

Unity

Image
Believers need to be reminded if you live by this principle all goes well: " In essentials, unity, in non-essentials, charity. In all things to glorify Christ" .  Remember, everyone redeemed "grows" at a different pace in the knowledge of Scripture. Many are babes in Christ, newer, or stagnant and not maturing. Show them grace, love and forgiveness as you kindly patiently educate where needed. If they don't ask for guidance, stay silent. Don't push your secondary viees on them.  However, the one thing we dont sacrifice under the guise of unity is false teaching. That must be called out. But if you follow the above principle and are among or interacting with a true born again person then these won't be issues.  Here are some sermons discussing unity The True Nature of Christian Unity   Unity; The Essentials, Liberty, Charity & Love   Related Resources  * Avoiding Non Essential Arguments online * Being vigilant about you onlin...
