Why Jews reject Jesus

Why Jews reject Jesus

Q: A genuine question, I dont mean to ask to be hateful to Jewish people at all, I just really cant get my head around it.

I can understand Jews from Jesus’ time not believing in Him, I mean this was a new person reported to be the Son of God, which in fairness, would be doubtable for those who had not met Him or witnessed Him.

But I don’t understand how Jewish people today can deny Jesus being the Son of God. The Old Testament (which, though in a different order and having a different name for Jewish people) points to the coming of Jesus (or the Son of God) in several places. Googling it, I found a list of 47 times Jesus has been prophesied about in the Old Testament. How can they deny Jesus with so many indicators of Him in the Jewish Bible/Tanakh?

As I said, I really am not asking to sound hateful, I just want to understand, if there is an answer? Idk

A: Your question is thoughtful, and it's clear that you’re trying to understand this deeply. The issue of why many Jewish people do not accept Jesus as the Messiah is complex and rooted in both historical and theological perspectives.

From a Christian perspective, Jesus is seen as the fulfillment of many Old Testament prophecies. However, Jewish interpretations of these same scriptures often differ significantly. Jewish scholars have traditionally understood many of these prophecies as pointing to a future messianic age rather than to Jesus specifically. For example, prophecies about a Messiah who would bring peace and restore Israel to its former glory are seen as unfulfilled because, from a Jewish standpoint, the world is still far from the peace and justice that the Messiah is expected to bring.

In Jewish tradition, rabbinic interpretation holds a central place. Many Jews rely on the teachings of their rabbis to understand the scriptures, and these interpretations have been developed over centuries. Rabbinic teachings typically do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah and instead offer different understandings of messianic prophecies. This tradition shapes how Jewish people are taught to read and interpret the Tanakh (the Hebrew Bible).

The New Testament does speak to the idea that Israel would be in a state of unbelief regarding Jesus as the Messiah. Romans 11:25, for instance, refers to a "partial hardening" that has come upon Israel until the full number of the Gentiles comes in. This passage suggests that there is a spiritual reason for their unbelief, which is part of God’s broader plan for redemption.

The Jewish rejection of Jesus as the Messiah is rooted in deeply held theological beliefs and centuries of tradition. For those who follow rabbinic Judaism, the messianic expectations have not been met by Jesus, so they await a different kind of Messiah.

The basic answer is they're blinded to truth and prefer a lie. Theyre unsaved and want, like all lost people, for things to go their way. They dont desire to obey God or embrace truth and theyre blinded and hardened towards it. One way they do so today is by not reading the Old Testament but simply only study & teach a book that is a commentary of the Scriptures and not the Scriptures themselves, [it is a old rabbi's interpretation of the Old Testament]. They dont even read the Old Testament at all. And long ago they even removed Isaiah 53 so the people dont run to Jesus.

Ultimately those whose names are written in the Lambs book of Life will be saved. Individually theyll keep being saved one by one until the fullness of the gentiles in the church age is complete, concluding with God converting Israel the nation in the tribulation and Millennial Kingdom.

What about the Jews

Here are resources to reach Jewish people for Christ

I know people of Jewish descent who are Christian. I also know of some arabs who also are Christian. God saves people no matter what theur ethnicity is, theyre human. And God's Will will be done. 🙂

Hope this helped
