We Fall-o-ween JESUS! 🎃
Dear Protestant born again believer,
Every day belongs to the Lord. Satan does not own any day. Halloween for our family is all about loving our neighbors. It’s the only day our neighbors have their doors open to us and allow us all to minister freely to them.
Working through holiday issues is not a salvation issue, no matter how many people try to say that it is one. Ive found from the many conversations had on this that the ones that say it is, typically object to all holidays. The truth is they simply just are uneducated about it, and also... far too many fear Satan instead of God.
The Bible is clear, we have the freedom to follow our convictions with regard to holidays.
God’s word says to avoid every *form* of evil, and to love your neighbor as yourself... so consider this:
Dressing up in bible costumes - not evil
Going door to to meet your neighbors - not evil
Handing out candy & tracts to neighbors who come to you door- not evil
Walking around with your neighbors - not evil
Meeting other kids and parents in your neighborhood- not evil
Telling people about Jesus- not evil.
none of this is evil… in fact, it’s actually an act of loving your neighbors…
Halloween is a day everyone opens their doors to each other. Some believers even set up outside their homes and had raffle games, and gave out prizes, hand out hot coco and gospel tract packs. Here is an example where Christians use creativity to "draw people in" to start conversations talking about death. Why? It is the enemy of humanity and it comes due to the wages of sin. It leads to gospel convos.
Your neighbors will be overwhelmed at your generosity and it can open doors for bible based conversations year round, & you can minister to them in times of trouble. Consider all the joy of this day you can freely have in Christ as you spending quality time together with your family, train up your child, and are loving on your neighbors.
Perhaps you had those anti holiday views until today, perhaps also you held those views because you neglected to learn how to share the Gospel and are ashamed as one not an approved workman. If so, that's something you need to talk to God about and get Equipped to do. There's no better time than now.
The links here show things to really consider, and offer suggestions for how to celebrate on Reformation Day.
God bless 😊
