Growing in the Fruit (after past sin)

Q: I have come back to Christ, but I have a lot of guilt and shame (over a past divorce and remarriage) which I’ve repented for. I’m trying to do my best from this point on to live a Christian life. I want to bear fruits, but I’m not sure how. I know what the fruits are, but I don’t feel like just being kind person is going to cut it at this point. I want God to look at me and see that I have abundantly produced fruits of the spirit. What can I do? A: God is the one who saves and transforms us. Those born again by God have both the indwelling Holy Spirit and the Fruit of the Spirit.  We grow into maturity in that Fruit in time, via sanctification; our walk in the Faith. Bearing Fruit is natural in our new nature [as we have the righteousness of Christ]. Here is info on the Fruit of the Spirit, and clarity on being restored image bearers of God. As you grow your Christian character matures. You might be like a green bell pepper (or baby in the faith) but will mature into a fully rip...

Age of Accountability Qs

Questions on the Age of Accountability  Q: Concern over my children being left behind after the Rapture. Looking for peace on the matter. A: What do we know? Well first, God is good. That means He will take care of the humans he created, whom he left temporarily in your care to raise.  On age of accountability... What Scripture reveals: 1. No Specific Age in Scripture Christianity emphasizes that Scripture does not provide a definitive “age of accountability.” There’s no verse that says, “At this age, you’re responsible.” He asserts that children mature at different rates, culturally and individually. Only God knows when someone’s heart reaches conscious, willful sin—when genuine rejection of God begins.  2. Condition, Not Chronology Instead of age, Scripture highlights a condition of moral culpability. A child reaches accountability when they understand law and grace, sin and salvation—when they can make a meaningful, deliberate decision for or against Christ. It is abou...

Does God hates women, cuz they have periods?

Q: Some women in my life say that God hates women because he gave them periods, it makes me sad that they get mad at God for this, any advice? Anything holy or biblical reference for women having periods? A: No. It is part of God's reproductive design for women. Its essential for her body's health and proper working. It is a good thing.   I can understand why that would make you sad — it’s hard when people see something painful in life and feel like it means God doesn’t care. The truth is, the Bible never says that God “hates women” because of their periods. In fact, Scripture consistently shows that women are deeply valued and loved by Him. Periods are part of living in a fallen world where our bodies aren’t perfect and pain is real (Genesis 3:16 touches on how brokenness entered creation). But they’re not a punishment or a sign of God’s dislike, though there was a consequence of sin entering (no longer perfect snd pain free). If anything, women are tied to the incredible g...

Suggestions for studying Scripture

Q: I would like to study the Bible from front to back. Where do I start? And any suggested specific Bible, apps, ect to help me. I believe if I study the Bible from start to finish I will understand more and questions will be answered. A: Yes, that's true. Both by personal reading and as you learn at church in Sunday School and by sermons there. You have community to answer questions.  While Cover to cover is best, to start you can do a "mini read" first, to get toes wet.  Read Genesis 1-11, Romans, then Gospel of John, Ephesians, Galatians, & Colossians.  Then, read the Gospels: Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John.  This has good resources and suggestions on getting the most out of those readings with study suggestions. ⭐️ It offers summaries, answers to questions along the way and gives guidance as you go. Imo it would be good to pair reading *with* an audio Bible, like a dramatized one. The best produced one is the kjv one (from the 50s made for the blind), and i...

Women in jobs?

Women in jobs In the eyes of God, is it ok .... I’m new to Christianity. I saw a social media post today wondering if a woman can be the head of the household, and all comments said it’s unbiblical. Don't want to change my career. Help! A: Women are not the head of the home, the husband is. But we work together under his leadership.  Women are Ezer, a Suitable Partner/ Helpmate to men (Eve was the Ezer/Helpmate for Adam to till the ground)! Therefore, we are eligible to work and help our households! Only in recent modern times after the major wars did family split up and men go work outside the home. It wasnt that way for all of history. The family unit stayed together, worked together.   Men and women worked alongside each other at home at whatever trade they did whether farming, clothes dying, animal related, or blacksmith. It wasn't till industrial revolution around the War time that it began to become seperated, thus today most men (even those in church) have a wrong ...

I don't want a parent in my life. (Though professes but fruit isnt showing). help.

Q: Is it wrong that I dont want my dad in my life?  I am confused on what to do with my relationship with my dad. I would love godly advice.  Growing up my parents were never married and I saw my dad every other weekend. If i was sick he’d take me back to my mom’s house. He never wanted to do anything hard when it came to parenting. My mom did all the real parenting. I mainly lived with her. I’d just see him now and then and as I got older I stopped going around him. He has anger issues and easily blows up at people everywhere we went. He never got angry at me. Just everyone else. He doesn’t work. When I would visit him, he would want me to pick him up so he doesnt loose his parking spot. He never would risk loosing his parking spot to meet me somewhere. He is a professes as Christian but doesnt go to church (because he thinks he knows more) and & says no church Is good enough… he cusses people out, but also does hands out Bible tracts. He constantly puts down other Chris...

Can we find truth through other Faiths

Q: I profess love towards God but I am looking to learn of a different faith. I am also trying to find which Church that I belong to after I decide which one. I don't anyone to tell me which Church to go to, because I want God to guide me to what Church he want me of. I have friends of different religious faiths, and I love all of my friends the same. At the moment I am looking at Mormonism, and seeking some of them folk to educate me on their religion.  I do understand how some people feel about different religions like Mormonism, and don't like engaging with or talking to folk who speak negative of other faiths, I want to embrace those who claim to be Christian just as I want others of faith to with me. A: This is a Christian place, we speak truth here and wont lie to you.  The important thing you need to do is examine what God has told us and revealed to us in Scripture [* The 66 books of the Bible]. That begins your journey as it explains the Essentials of Christianity ...

How can we KNOW God personally?

Q: A couple yrs ago asked my pastor "how I can get that two way relationship with God that he is always talking about". He prayed for me. I went back to him about a year later, and told him I needed prayer because all weekend I felt the need to go to the alter (after attending an event).   This month, an old friend of the family (who also used to be the pastor of the church) was there and came up and talked to me after the service. He told me that about 2 yrs ago he felt I was about "this close" to getting what it was I was looking for.  I was still doing everything the same, reading my Bible, praising, praying, everything I had been doing. Still trying really hard to KNOW God so I could have a true relationship with Him, instead of just saying I'm a Christian.  Anyway, I called the friend of the family off and on through the next week to try to get some insight from him and his wife. They'd ask questions, I'd answer truthfully. The last time I talked wi...
