Presidential candidate hawking Bibles?
Q: I was at a Independance Day bbq and some people are talking politics. Some are upset because they claim one candidate is a false prophet who sells bibles for profit. So, I would like to give the benefit of the doubt, but what do you think?🤷♀️
A: I wouldn’t call him a false prophet [or even a prophet] nor does Trump claim to be one, it isn't his Bible he's producing, (that's misinformation). He is endorsing a Bible that a patriotic company is selling, Bibles for $60, it might seem super gimmicky to you but its just like any famous person or celebrity endorser getting behind something they believe in. He’s not a Pastor or Bible teacher nor someone we as Christians should be looking to for spiritual or theological guidance or as an example of Christianity by any stretch of the imagination. But he is reminding the entire nation of our important founding documents this version includes, and the core of our nation and laws which is the Christian Bible.
Whether he is a new Christian, a growing Christian whose stumbling a bit, or a false convert who is "religious" (like most people in the country)... He is not who we look to for Spiritual guidance, but God did put him in office as the Leader of America and representative of the free world [twice].
A lot of good Bibles today cost $60. Some care about bindings and material its made of and those can cost up to 300$ or more. Reproductions of early Christian Bibles are the same (and those avail originals are in the thousands; an original was 39k last time I looked). $60 isnt bad.
Idk all what is in the one he is promoting but if it has American history then that's great; too many today very are ignorant of founding documents, their meaning (and original intention of the authors of them) and of our real America's history. If you need a Bible or it has something of value in it for yourself or others you share Christ with... and have that spare money, feel free to get one/some to and further the Gospel.
Bibles are being sold, for that we should rejoice, even if they are being sold simply by an endorcer. And no one should attack or slander a person for his good attempts to get people to read the Bible and the contents here, especially by those of the anti freedom, "anti God" haters party.
Remember, Paul said in Philippians 1:15-18 says:
“15. It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. 16. The latter do so out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. 17. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains. 18. But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice.”
Let us be glad if an organization or company is findung ways to get Bibles into peoples hands. Our nation would be far better off if Americans all had one and read it... and obeyed it.
The President is never going to be my pastor or spiritual guide. Trump is NOT a prophet. Trump is simply a man who has made a recent profession of his faith, is the only candidate standing for biblical values; of what he currently undestands. He says he is protestant, and grew up presbyterian (Reformed). I don't know how new he is in the faith, what things he is untangling from what he thought in the past was right, and how quickly he is maturing in his relationship with Jesus - but appears to be on his way. We don't become perfect or mature overnight, sanctification and understanding Scripture takes time, so give him Grace
Biden and many politicians say they are Catholic [an apostate religion] and their actions are FAR from standing by any biblical values. False religion is like that, it's deceptive abd decieves many; those in it and those who follow after him.
Trump has a checkered past like most Christians. He has become the husband of one wife and made many changes in his life. His whole political affiliation changed when he was woken up to what the previous adminitrations were doing to our country and where it was headed. That is why everyone who once loved him are have been doing everything they can do to discredit and get rid of him. Beware of false information spread about him, you do not want to be a gossipers or haters, both which God has spoken against in Scripture, and is not the mindset of a believer.
There are Christians who have fallen prey to the lies and blinded by the truth. Satan deceives and causes division with hopes to destroy (relationships, families and nations too), and political things are an area he does so. Dont let him do that to you.
I would ask that you pray for Holy Spirit to open the eyes of your understanding, lead you in all truth and that all lies would be revealed to you. Pray for discernment. Take everything that you hear from every person and submit it to the Lord for interpretation and/or correction. Pray that you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Pray that you will walk in and know what God spoke of in Isaiah 11:2 and Revelation.
At the end of the day we should all vote for who we believe will be the best for preserving our Country. It has long been the most unique in the world, and we want it to continue to be the light shining into the world. May God allow us to continue to bless the world.
