Election considerations for Christians
Presidential voting Considerations for Christians...
In Politics:
- *Southern Baptists pass resolution on IVF*: The Southern Baptist Convention recently passed a resolution calling for more government regulation of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and urging the denomination's members to limit the number of embryos created in the process.
- *Ethical concerns*: The resolution raised ethical concerns about the fate of unused frozen embryos created during IVF, which Southern Baptists believe are fully human and must be given every chance for birth & life.
- *Anti-abortion stance*: The Southern Baptist Convention has been increasingly vocal about its anti-abortion stance, and has now taken action by opposing IVF, which they believe is morally ambiguous and causes the death of unborn babies.
- *IVF as a moral issue*: The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, an arm of the Southern Baptist Convention, has published a resource against IVF, arguing that the practice separates conception from sex between a man and a woman and turns children [humans created in God's image] into products.

From the Trump & Biden debate
I didn't like that particular answer, but he stayed within SCOTUS the ruling on abortion, and as President - has to follow & uphold the current Laws of the land. However he said something during the debate I had wanted a politician to say for sometime. When asked about Roe being overturned he (R) said something to the effect of, "We are not the extremist, they [D's] are the ones that want to abort babies at 8 and 9 months, and even after they are born."
I am for a abolishing abortion but abolision is less extreme than the abort any child, anywhere, anytime, for any reason approach.
We dont live in a perfect world. We live in a fallen sin stained one. I don’t expect perfection of politicians. I’ll go with the one who legally got Roe overturned and allows the states to make decisions while also not trying to persecute Christians.
The Marxists are destroying our country before our very eyes. They are promoting and celebrating all manner of perversion. They are prosecuting their adversaries in Soviet style show trials. They censor speech to control outcomes. So you cant demand an all or nothing candidate. It won't work among fallen people in a nation not governed by theocracy/God.
Dr J. Vernon McGee once said:
“I have never voted for my candidate for president, because my candidate wasn’t running. I’ve always been reduced to voting for the lesser of two evils.”
Your conscience needs to allow you to do that, because it’s foolish to essentially provide what is likely default support for the other party that literally hates Christ, hates the church and hates moral restraint of any kind whatsoever, seeking to stamp out every last vestige of all three.
I suggest you vote for elected officials that BEST reflect your views and then, when they are in power, take Paul’s advice on the matter:
1 Timothy 2:1-4 (ESV)
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
And pray for their genuine salvation.
Remember, we should be gracious with one another. And this is a decision every voter has to consider & make. Some will look at both candidates and say they can vote for neither. I will vote for what they see as "the lesser of two evils."
If you vote R, you will be getting proper supreme court justices who interpreted law instead of going with the party line. Which was a good thing Trump did (the former). Now to keep those same kinds of judges… that’s important!
They are only there to interpret the constitution. Not make laws. So many don't get this, and the bigger picture. The outcome of Ds in the oval office is the destruction of America, our freedoms, liberty and rights.
Our country was far better off with Trump at the helm. I hope Americans vote wisely, to preserve our nation.
May God be with us.
