How to have & strengthen a relationship with God

Q: I'm seeking advice or tips on how to strengthen my relationship with God.

I was catholic before I converted to Christianity. So, since young I was exposed to God- but it felt like a chore. when I really started wanted a relationship with God was around age 19.

In my youth stuff kept happening to me that pushed me away. I didn't want to believe in God due to everything happening but occasionally I'd feel a pull towards learning about God.

I've been struggling to hear him but I occasionally think something in me moving closer. Idk what to make of it but I'm craving a closer relationship... idk how to pray, don't understand the Bible and have trouble seeking help since I've been sinful and ashamed....I want to repent and change but idk how...

A: Thanks for telling a little about how your interest in a relationship with God began.

1. It isn't totally clear if you just are going to church but havent been saved yet... so let's make sure you are right with God. Here is the Gospel 👈 explained clearly.

In Mark 1:15 Jesus said "Repent & believe the Gospel". So you need to repent "once and for all" of all your sins. You can pray directly to God right now to do that. If you do AND you believe what Scripture teaches about Jesus... then God has (as the video explained) received Jesus payment in full for your sins, and you are freed from the sin nature and received the new nature, and freed from God's wrath against sin. It is as you traded places with Jesus on the cross. This is what propitiation means. God now sees Jesus righteousness covering you and you are right with God. Your court case is closed. And... this means you are now a child of God😀. Born again, redeemed, set apart to God. You have eternal life and the Holy Spirit lives in you.

Praise God if you just got saved.🎉✝️

2. The reason we come to Jesus is to be right with God, and live righteously [because the sin nature prevented this relationship]. But primarily we as humans are to glorify Him who deserves it. [Even if salvation wasnt offered, God is worthy to be worshipped and glorified by his creation].

So if by chance you had thought going to church or coming to Jesus was it for "a better happy life" then check out the below, so you understand more clearly. "Yes" there is a way to have a happy life now but our best life isn't until eternity. But "no" it isnt how the world presents a happy life; preached by a false gospel.

A lot of people hear various things both about the Bible and Gospel and theyre really not accurate info; subtle doctrines of demons. Some think theyll have a good and easy life if they become Christian, but Scripture says the opposite. So clarity is needed. That's why the reason a person comes to Christ is so vital. If you miss the reason for salvation then a false gospel is embraced and nothing changes in you and you later fall away from the Faith. So lets prevent that 🙂.

If you grasp the below well, you can grow and soar 🙂 in the Faith, because you have this knowledge.

1. Read this Pdf - free book
2. Understand about this Fallen world and suffering.

*It will explain that this isnt God's fault but fallen sinful man. God is the one we should be holding on to since he is in control, will work all things out for good and Jesus promised to never leave us - he walks with us thru this sin stained world and leads us home to glory [Heaven; where sin will never enter again].

Here are resources to help you as a new and growing believer. It is a treasure trove (but begins with a section to help save yourself some pain, so you can be off and running in your Christian life "well"). It has helps on finding a church, prayer, the Bible and getting closer to God too. 🥰✝️

God bless
