About the Gospel ⭐

Q: What do you believe you have to do to be saved? And what are you saved from? A: You have to come to God with a contrite heart over your sins & you get saved by believing the Gospel.  You are saved from the wages of sin (power of death that leads to damnation & eternal punishement) and saved into righteousness. What is the Gospel   What "Believe in Jesus" means Understanding the Grace and Mercy of God Why the Law and the Gospel go together Clearing up confusion about Repentance  Believers Confession of Sin  The Gospel is not about life enhancement More on the Gospel

Breaking off a Unequally Yoked relationship but sharing Christ first

Here are some ideas or  steps to break up with an unsaved person  But after a gospel convo. being hopeful God saves him.  There's two options here, neither include living together.  1. Share the Gospel and hope he gets saved, but watching him for a while to see if any genuine Fruit proof of conversion shows, and can later consider dating again. 2. Share the Gospel, and move on anyway. Leaving him with God to mature. If it is meant to be snd in God's timing later perhaps after your both matured in the Faith [and in age] you might date again.  ===================== *Have a irl convo.  -Meet in a public place... but not at a fav eatery.  I recommend reviewing the below links in advance to help you have an understanding so you can talk on the fly. If you do not want to use this opportunity to share the gospel with him before breaking up, jump right to the break up section.  =========== At meet up: Here are two options for initiating the gospel convo ...

Friend has struggles needs God

A friend is having life struggles, believes in God but won't really engage in convos about God.  I have a childhood best friend I’ve known since we were in babies. We’ve been off and on friends and have had a bit of a rocky past, but even with that I care about her.  She had a break up recently and has been extremely depressed and is drinking/smoking. I’ve been trying to talk to her about God by messenger, but she doesnt say much when we interact and avoids Christian convos. She says she’s a Christian and believes in God.  In the past she has used me and I’ve had to take a step back from our friendship. I really do care about her and my heart aches because just a year ago I was where she is. I am just finding out this year what my faith really means and having a relationship with God. So I have no idea how to talk to her about this and get through her head…I’m so lost I have no idea what to do. Her social media has become so depressing I’ve had to mute her on a few thing...

Not Life Enhancement

The Gospel is not about life enhancement but a call to righteousness.  The tragedy of modern evangelism is that, around the turn of the twentieth century, the church forsook the Law in its capacity to convert the soul and drive sinners to Christ. Modern evangelism therefore had to find another reason for sinners to respond to the gospel, and the reason it chose was the issue of “life enhancement.” The gospel degenerated into “Jesus Christ will give you peace, joy, love, fulfillment, and lasting happiness.” Something like this is usually said, “You will never find true happiness until you come to the Lord. You have a ‘God-shaped vacuum’ in your heart that only He can fill. God will heal your marriage and take away that addiction problem. He’ll get you out of financial difficulty and be your best friend.” The following anecdote will illustrate the unscriptural nature of this very popular teaching. Two men are seated on a plane. The first is given a parachute and told to put it on, as...

How do we know if someone is a False Teacher or Preacher?

Q: Recently some Christians told me to to "steer clear" of certain pastors who are ones I've always enjoyed hearing, (Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes, Steven Furtick). Why are they being called false preachers and false teachers? I want to know, so I dont follow or listen to any who actually are false teachers 👀.  A: Those caring believers told you the truth.   They just didnt explain "why" to you.  Those who put forth doctrines of demons and teach heresy do so subtly like their father Satan in Eden. He has never stopped, and so those who belong to him [such as false teachers] seek out to deceive those who are new in the faith or hardly really know or hardly ever read the Bible. These new or weak believers  wrongly think that anyone who "claims to be" a Christian are one and anyone given a platform on tv or online must be one -- but they are not. Scripture is the test. False teachers and false preachers (book authors included) fail the test of what are called T...

Overcoming Hate - (plus understanding the Law, Grace, Sanctification & Growing as a believer)

Need help to overcome hate Q: Jesus said the whole of the law can be summarized in just one law: "love your neighbor as yourself". My problem is, when I'm around people who frustrate me, I cannot keep this law. Also... say if someone tried to keep this law by going and living alone in the mountains, and deleting his social media, and never interacted with anyone, however, he bought a food truck, and drove to poor needy places and gave the food away for free every day. This was his only interaction with people. Is this not cheating God? Because obviously most of the time if not ALL of the time, everyone will be kind and loving to him because he is giving food away. So he basically doesn't need to even try when keeping the commandments. PLUS he is helping the poor and the orphans. Double bonus. So, isn't this hiding from the world and taking a shortcut? Jesus said what reward do we have if we only love those that love us? But when I'm around others that fru...

Unsaved partner is hardened towards God

Q: Today I’m just feeling hopeless. What’s weighing the most right now is that my partner has a hardened heart towards God. I keep asking God to soften his heart and reveal himself to him, but I just keep losing hope thinking “ignore the problem and it’ll find a way to figure it’s self out”. I’m sitting in my car crying, Bible in hand just reaching out some assistance & for prayer. For myself, to help get me grounded, to stop questioning "my own prayer and faith" and for prayers for my partners heart to be softened to accept the Lord. It’s been a hard day. Guidance & advice? A: What I'm going to say is meant in a loving caring way to bless you. The hard truth is you cannot assume just because you "pray" for it, that it will happen, that he will be saved. He might never get saved. A lot of Christians do not know how to share the gospel because they themselves can't articulate it. But they saw it was reasonable based on evidence they examined when t...

What "Believe in Jesus" means

Image
A friend asked me what he needed to be saved and I was extremely excited & he was genuinely curious. I told him how we are all sinners in need of a Savior and the work that Jesus on the cross and why it had to be done. At the end of that convo he asked me “what does it mean to truly believe in the gospel and Jesus Christ and how will I know that I’m truly saved, and that it’s not just intellectual of a certain set of facts” and I realized I didn’t have an answer for him, being that I’m still new and learning and don’t quite have an answer yet myself. Can you guide me with clarity here?  A: What you are asking about are explaining "the essentials".  In a nutshell "believing in Jesus" has to do with believing who he is by who Scripture says he is and who he revealed himself to be (in Scripture [which is also history written by eyewitnesses]). It reveals Jesus is God in the flesh. 100% God, 100% man, the sinless perfect 2nd Adam. The one who obeyed and fulfilled al...
