How should Christians view Marijuana?

Image
Q: How should Christians think and view Marijuana? And will using it keep me from going to Heaven?  A: This is an important topic today because many States in USA have legalized it, though it is still a Federal crime.  You might also be wondering because of these verses and your concern that if you live like the world your fate is as theirs.  Galatians 5:21 Envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God Galatians 5:19-21  Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, "and things like these". I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God 1 Corinthians 6:10  Nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdo...

Cancer Resources

Cancer Patient Q: My mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She will start her chemotherapy in 15 days. There will be 4 sessions of chemotherapy every 3 weeks.  How can I prepare myself to serve her during this time? What can I do to share her burden (emotionally and physically and mentally). I'll be present at all time...but need help to prepare for the next steps. I don't know what actually happens chemotherapy and what happens after it. How'd she feel after each the session, what will be the reactions. What can I do for her? How can I serve her? I've planned to changes her diet a bit. I've decided she should consume more fruits, vegetables, nuts. Should she not take meat or dairy? Is that okay? We haven't visited doctors since friday so I've no clue.  Currently, I'm also looking for a book of all the 365 promises of God. I want to read the promise each day with her. It'll give her peace and comfort & acknowledging His promises for each...

Begg Digs a Deeper Hole: His Misplaced Slander of Critics, Refusal to Consider Their Scriptural Arguments, and Lack of Nuance in Describing Jesus' Outreach to Sinners by Robert A. J. Gagnon, Ph.D., Professor of Bible at Houston Christian University  Rev. Alistair Begg has doubled down on his recommendation to a grandmother that she attend her grandchild's "gay" or "trans" wedding (so long as the grandchild getting "married" knows of her disagreement).* “They want me to repent? ... I’m not ready to repent of this. I don’t have to.”  *Note that in the Sept. broadcast he referred to a grandmother's "grandson"; here he refers to a grandmother's "granddaughter." Which is it? I. Begg's Ad Hominem Attack of Critics While completely (and I mean completely) ignoring the array of scriptural arguments against his position, Begg compares all his critics to Pharisaic "separatists" who refuse to eat with sinners or have ...

New Believer "Witnessing" Struggles

Image
Newbie witness struggles Q: I'm a new believer in Christ, trying to "get it right" on what to share. There should be a balance between preaching against sin and about hell & about love, faith, hope, repentance and about what Jesus did on the cross, right? I am afraid of going through the same thing I went through years ago in the cult that I was in, and am afraid of being mislead. It's hard to trust anyone now days with false beliefs invading the church and believers embracing them too. I just want and need to find the balance in preaching truth online. Can you give advice? A: Yes. True, there are false religions masqurading as Christian (from cults to catholicism and orthodoxy as well as prosperity, heresy and false preachers unbiblically embracing pagan culture in "churches" today). It is due to lack of biblical knowledge. If they live God they will be devouring and storing His Word in their hearts and mind and being doers of the Word a...

Here Is Why Alistair Begg Should Repent of Encouraging Attendance at a “Gay” or “Transgender” Wedding  By Robert A. J. Gagnon, Ph.D., Professor of Bible, Houston Christian University Alistair Begg, a 71-year-old evangelical Scottish pastor of Cleveland's Parkside Church, who has an influential radio ministry called “Truth For Life,” should repent of the very bad advice that he gave on his program.  In response to a question from a grandmother as to whether she should attend her grandson’s wedding to “a transgender person,” Begg said that, so long as the grandson knows that she “can’t countenance in any affirming way the choices that he has made in life,” she should “go to the ceremony” and even “buy them a gift.” (Go here to the 28m 50s mark for the audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=rXDYYPLwgYE.) I. Not an Agree-to-Disagree Issue This is outrageous piece of advice by a seasoned evangelical pastor who should know better. From the perspective of ...

Losing Faith need FAQ Resources

Q: I feel like I’m losing my last bit of faith in God. All of my leaders are full of ego, repetition of the same things over and over. I’ve read the Bible myself twice now from cover to cover, and noticed many many things that don’t add up. Many contradictions. And last, God has let the worst of the worst happened and was not here for me time and time again. Letting me suffer. Letting me feel alone. I don’t know if there is a God at all anymore. The contradictions that I can’t seem to find a solid answer are: If God is the same yesterday, today, and forever, why was everything changed for the New Covenant? No more sacrifices, no more eye for eye tooth for tooth? Yes I know that Jesus came and was the pure lamb who was slain. Also, there 3 different versions of the 10 commandments. Exodus 34(really weird one), Deuteronomy 5, and Exodus 20. Speaking of 10 commandments, why is that the only law we must keep after Jesus? How many laws do we keep and say “well in the Bible it says this s...

Ministering in the age of Itching Ears

Image
Ministering In An Age Of Itching Ears Unfortunately, the market-driven ministry philosophy appeals to the very worst mood of our age. It caters to people whose first love is themselves and who care not for God—unless they can have Him without disrupting their selfish lifestyles. Promise such people a religion that will allow them to be comfortable in their materialism and self-love, and they will respond in droves. Paul foresaw such a time. Near the end of his second epistle to Timothy, after outlining the principles we have listed above, Paul abridged his advice to Timothy in this well-known verse: “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2). Then the apostle added this prophetic warning: “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening...

Allistar Begg Controversial LGBT Wedding  statement . Unbiblical. Sept 2023 At the end of this interview, Alistair Begg recommends 😱 attending a transgender wedding. 😑 Here's the part of the transcription, and the fall out from it.  Bob: You [Alistair] have, in recent months, been taking the Parkside congregation through Romans 1 and Psalm 139 and Jude, which all point to how out of sync our culture is with God’s Word, God’s expectations. It feels like the Sermon on the Plain in Luke chapter 6 is pointing us back inward and saying, “ It’s not just culture that is out of sync with God’s demands, but our own lives are out of sync. And that’s again why we need the Gospel—for forgiveness and for transformation.” Alistair: Yeah, that’s good, Bob. I wish I’d thought of that. I think one of the for me in trying to tackle Jude—and being tackled by Jude—is the fact that he doesn’t name anybody. He doesn’t call anybody out. I mean, he gives us an Identi-Kit picture of t...

Suffering Struggles - help *

Q: Struggling and need counsel. I am a Christian and under age 30.  Does God hate me?  I was kidnapped from my mom by my father at 7. Went through Hell, a lot of mental abuse, and very screwed up now due to it. I only had my mom in my life again for seven more years before she died from very bad health. Then moms cat died. Then my great aunt passed shortly after. I pray and pray but nothing changes, nothing happens. I wake up and it is more misery. It never ends! Now currently I have no vehicle due to a car lot situation and my wore out truck decided to start dumping it's transmission fluid out. I need a vehicle due to my brother being Type 1 and I don't know from one day to the next. My 80 yr old grandmother is in bad health and I have concerns she may need to go to the hospital in a hurry. Not only that, the vehicle issue could cause me to lose my job. If God is so great, why are there always problems and why is he bent on sending me to a mental breakdown? Count my...
