New Believer "Witnessing" Struggles
Newbie witness struggles
Q: I'm a new believer in Christ, trying to "get it right" on what to share. There should be a balance between preaching against sin and about hell & about love, faith, hope, repentance and about what Jesus did on the cross, right?
I am afraid of going through the same thing I went through years ago in the cult that I was in, and am afraid of being mislead. It's hard to trust anyone now days with false beliefs invading the church and believers embracing them too. I just want and need to find the balance in preaching truth online. Can you give advice?
A: Yes. True, there are false religions masqurading as Christian (from cults to catholicism and orthodoxy as well as prosperity, heresy and false preachers unbiblically embracing pagan culture in "churches" today).
It is due to lack of biblical knowledge. If they live God they will be devouring and storing His Word in their hearts and mind and being doers of the Word as they follow Christ.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you..." Hosea 4:6
On sharing Christ...
If you understand the essentials of the faith and the gospel message you can at least share what you do know, as a new believer, and possibly your testimony too.
Here are resources:
1. The Gospel [you can easily add this to any comment you make. If they put you in pending... just copy the comment, delete it. Repost it and put a space between dot and com]. NeedGod.com
2. Know the Essentials.
These are biblical basic must believe truths of salvation that separate us from cults and false Christian groups.
*memorize those verses ✝️

3. Read and know the Bible.
As a new believer you can learn the gist of what is in each book [very surface level - not deeply] by reading introductions to each book. If you have a solid study Bible it will have that in the front of each of the 66 books.
* recommend reading each intro 3 times in a row to best solidify it to have a quicker and overview of each book.
If you do not have a studybible go here GTY.org and in searchbar write "Introduction to"+ book name. Read it free
*Read the NT, then cover to cover. It goes faster in quiet time reading if you listen to audio while reading along. (#6 has links)
4. Memorize verses. Besides the essentials... memorize verses that point to evangelism. And godly Christian living. That also means memorizing ones that warn of sin [so you avoid it] (esp noted in NT).
5. Grow as a believer in "deeper" understandings of Scripture
*this has Bible helps, answers to difficult passages, Reading recommendations and study helps, memory verses helps and a ton more 😀✝️

Poke around in here for those specific things you will benefit from this year - then next year go thru everything else 🙂 there.
6. Get equipped in evangelism to help (out of love) those in false religions.
*Dont deep dive into this until you go through "all the above" first.

*it does include a bunch of typical skeptic objections that you can simply link drop or dm to them kindly w a note.
Bonus: here is help crafting your testimony. Include the gospel in it...
If you post it on your facebook page and set it to public... you can copy the link to it and save it in your notes app for quick copy and paste when you share Christ in comments [if you didnt use needGod.com at that time].

If you focus this year on 1-6 above... you will be so much further off, and ahead in your "maturing in the faith" (than most even of those in your church). And be able to share Christianity much better being a bit more well rounded.
God bless!
