Desiring salvation, but still controlled by marijuana

Q: I want to surrender my life to Jesus. I'm thinking about getting baptized soon, (was baptized as a baby). I have been feeling compelled to do this.

However I can not seem to want to give up marijuana. I rely on it as a mom & it helps with my anxiety. I don't know what to. I am so lost on this situation.

A: Being drawn to God is good, but getting right with God is your first most important step. See video (👈go here right now, before continuing below). ✅️

The rest will follow. Once saved, God will give us new desires to live holy lives in righteousness, (and God will teach and guide us to live it out).

Until you're saved you wont desire to give up sin and live in righteousness. Those in the sin nature, do as their nature does; its all they can do. Once saved, youre transformed by God.

*Having spiritual life and the new nature, we are called to find and kill sin in our lives. To have victory over it. And we desire to, and pursue it, completing that mission.

God wants us to rely on Him. That means be self controlled, have control on our emotions, thoughts soaked in Scripture and life guided by it. This is only possible with the indwelling Holy Spirit, whom also we are called to be filled with and sober minded. Under His control, not influenced and led demonic & worldly substances (and those who push/prescribe them).

I hope this can help on the topic & related (smoking/drugs) areas to get a real understanding.

Likewise and related, these can further help you understand the issue & how to have victory.

And as noted, God wants us to rely on Him. See this on Anxiety, to help give you peace, (and keep you soberminded and off drugs pushed by the world as a help, cuz its not the answer nor cure).

Once you've surrendered your life to God, via obeying the Gospel (Jesus in Mark 1:15 said "Repent & Believe the Gospel"), then you can find a Bible focused church to get baptized at, and join; where they'll disciple you, help you to live holy, and be your Christian family. To serve God there, love one another, grow in the Faith, and be a part of all that Church is, does & is for

That's in addition to your daily reading Scripture at home. 🙂

These resources can help you start off well and grow well.

God bless
