New believer Study Bible & Helps
Q: Have have any recommendation for a Bible study book to help "new Christians" understand the Word better?
I have a really hard time understanding and interpreting what I read in my NLT Bible. I’ve come across ads for Bible study books and I’m wondering if they are worth it, and which are trustworthy.
I’m struggling to get closer to God because of this barrier.
A: NLT is a sorta ok version. I used it for many years. It's not a better more reputable one that anyone over 18 should use, but it helps those with lower reading comprehension (5th to 8th grade level).
It's better to get a more solid version and pair your reading with solid study notes (like with a study Bible). But also it is best to read a section a few times before going to the next one (including whats before it). That way you grasp it, before moving on. And it connects anythung before to whats after as well. This is a very helpful way to understand. 📖
You'll grow in time, so dont stress or put too much burden or expectation on yourself for learning. It takes a lifetime to study the Scriptures. Just go one day at a time. 🙂
These will help you. Many study Bibles are expensive, but theres a low priced good one here that will bless and guide you.

✝️ The important thing is to read Scripture daily. Whether 15 min, 30 min or an hour. But focus - on the content.
Read, first thing in the morning, before breakfast.
Suggestions:
●You can read the section/story once,
● then read it again-with the "study notes".
●Then think about what it is saying. What it says about God, and what application it can have for you both towards God and in living holy (related to your new nature; think righteousness, moral, fruit of the Spirit).
●Write questions down;
>>to look up at the "intro faq" section above, and at GotQuestions.org, and others to ask your Sunday School teacher on Sunday (or by email).
●Think about the story during the day. Maybe set an alarm on your phone for once before lunch, and once after lunch, to meditate on it, thinking about it fir a couple minutes & have a short prayer to God.
●Maybe reread and review it after/at lunch.
●At night after work, maybe play the dramatized version of that portion you studied today, to wrap up your day, and set it in your mind a bit better.
God bless
