How should we respond to an unsaved person who murders?
How should we think/respond to an unsaved person who murders?
Do horrible people just get forgiven?
Should we just flippantly forgive? No, cuz God doesnt.
Did he repent and ask forgiveness? No? Well...
This isnt a simple issue of "brotherly love" towards the brethren (to not pick hills to die on and just give grace). This is murder, hatred in the heart, and evil acts. Forgiveness in those cases doesnt come without [is not extended without] genuine repentance.
Murder provides no opportunity to ask forgiveness, be reconciled and restored to the one you harmed. It shows lack of grace, patience, love, and care towards others. It's selfish, sinful, in short it is plain evil. The only option they have, and thank God there is one, is to fling yourself at the feet of Christ & with a humble, contrite heart, cry out for mercy, and forgiveness.
Pray he gets right with God, and then yes, he will be humbly contrite and repentant, by which you can easily forgive.
Youre desire is to see him saved, so send appropriate folk to him to relay that Gospel message of redemption, transformation and new life. With his salvation comes the victims family's forgiveness.
