Be fruitful and multiply, meaning?

Q: What does "Be Fruitful and Multiple" mean to you?

It really doesn’t matter what it “means to me” what matters is what God meant when He first spoke it. Biblical context matters; examine the authors original intent

In Genesis 1:28, “Be fruitful and multiply” was a blessing and command for the man and wife united in marriage [Adam and Eve] to physically fill the earth with children, and steward God’s creation under His authority. And fir their children to do the same. Humans are designed to marry, have and raise kids in the Lord. That is one function of human life. And it follows with our purpose.

Jesus later shows us that true fruitfulness is not just physical but spiritual abiding in Him and bearing the fruit of the Spirit (John 15:5; Galatians 5:22–23). And the Great Commission calls us to “multiply” by making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19).

So from the very beginning to now, God’s heart has been for His people to fill the earth with life, fellowship and enjoy Him, and glorify Him. We can do this through families, in our comings and goings in life, and through the spreading of the Gospel.
