Where to start? Unsaved spouse open to church & Bible study.
Q: My husband is not saved. He sees me always doing my Bible study and going to church (when I don’t have to work). He wants to come to church with me this week, but also mentioned us doing a Bible study together. My question is how to put a study together for someone who isnt saved? I’ve had the book of John mentioned.
A: Fantastic. God might be drawing him to Himself. The first 2 things below are the key things he needs to know first. ✅️
It is important to start with the foundational core basics with of the Essentials. Go through it, with the Bible open and going through the verses.
Then share the Gospel. The video here is good, and short. * Do ask if he wants to be right with God through Jesus, after watching it, and encourage him to pray that to God. Then pray over him. And then connect him to the church leadership for Discipleship, Baptism and membership.
If he's not ready yet, keep going thru the below, and circle back to the Gospel again, when you feel God giving opportunity to do so.
Start going deeper after that...
These additional videos can help solidify his beliefs, or help him understand Christianity better.
From there you can read John and Romans together. And go in depth from there. This video series can teach well on John, and has a audio Playlist for Romans. Very enjoyable. Really great with neat stuff!
These are also helpful books, (for after reading those 2 Bible books). He can read on his own time.
*Christian Doctrines:
-Essential Christian Doctrine (simplified)
-Biblical Doctrine (to then go deeper)
You can get him a good study Bible here.
*And these have good helps to learn about the Bible, with answers as you go. Good for beginners, has introductions, details and more on each book in the Bible.
--You can go thru the intro, then read the book together in your Bible, and consult faq as needed as you go. And repeat with each book. 😊
-- Do encourage daily reading of the Bible (cover to cover) [together in am], and don't go on some other reading plan until yall read it together 3x in a row. That will help him get it all firmly in his mind. After that, there's many fun studies you can do (found here).
Altogether, these can set him off to a good start, and grow from there.
