What is marriage ?
Q: What is a marriage in Gods eyes? I have a hard time grasping that a piece of paper equals marriage to God, over dedicating and committing to each other and God.
A: It is one man and one woman united before God (by authorized person, in accordance with the laws of the land) in a lifetime covenant, that focuses on Christ, and daily shows the world "the Gospel" as you grow in sanctification and work together in Christ to accomplish His goals in your life, through nucleous families' life, (and as you prioritize ministering to/ training up your children to know Christ). It's about love, grace, forgiveness and seeking God's will above yours. Part of that life includes actively being at church, under the shepherding of the leaders, to help you live a holy life, mature in the Faith, and in serving God there with your gifts, as you likewise bless others. Marriage is legally binding (and has many protections included in it for women). God creates a covenant with the couple in marriage, and it is to be equally yoked and for life.
