Cults at the Door
Q: What should I know about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? I’m trying to get a second opinion on them. I’m not sure on what…. They are wanting to come over and have a chat this evening, and I am trying to be more mindful of who I let in my home. I was only told that their beliefs are different than the beliefs in the Bible? Can you educate me?
A: They're a cult. Do not let them in your home. Do not engage them until your very learned later on in how to handle them. And only after you know Scripture very very well.
These are essential things to know about true Christianity. (Its what seperates us from the false religions and cults that claim to be Christian).
These are things to understand about God the trinity. (Including his character attributes).
This explains the biblical Gospel.
That cult of the Mormons has a diff god, diff jesus, diff gospel and different scriptures. Avoid them. Just close the door or dont open it. [Same with Jehovah Witnesses]. They're a works based false religion. Don't even open your door to them.
If the ones who tried to get into your home show up, tell them "I changed your mind and arem no longer interested, abd please take me off your contact list", and then just kindly close the door on them and ignore them.
2 Timothy 3:6: "They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires."
Jude 1:4: "For some men have secretly slipped in among you who have long been condemned to this ungodly conduct, turning the grace of our God into licentiousness and denying our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ."
Matthew 23:15
"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, [false teachers/false religions] hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves."
Galatians 1:6-9:
I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than the one you recieved, [revealed in the Bible] let them be under God’s curse!
So, After going through the above info & having a firm grasp on its truth, you can then understand the heresy & false things about them [here] that damns those in that & any false religion. Again any religion that is works based is a false religion. True Christianity is Grace based, (as defined in the Bible).
There are many cults and false religions that "claim" to be Christian. So the more you study the Bible and Christianity, having a firm grasp on it, the better you will easily be able to discern the red flags of such groups, and avoid them.
