Q: Tongues and filled with Holy Spirit

I’ve been praying for years to be filled with the Holy Spirit and feel as I haven’t. I see people praying in tongues and I’m unable to. Why ?

I guess I’m confused because I see people who seem recently saved who are able to speak in tongues, and I’ve been praying for it and it hasn’t happened. Makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong.


A: There are false churches with false teachings rampant in modern times. 

The reason you are having this confusion and no peace is because 1. Tongues isn't a gift given today, and 2 if you obeyed the Gospel, the Holy Spirit who converted you resides in you from the moment of salvation.

Further if they claim you have to speak in tongues to be saved, they're adding to the Gospel - and that's a false gospel that damns. 

There are far too many who hold to beliefs (of those lies) online, but they are very decieved or just not God's people. Avoid them. Avoid those following false teachings and avoid churches that teach those false things, theyre decievers. Read Matt 7:22-28 for their fate.
