Counseling - Adultery

This is a Fallen world and sin abounds. Even believers are not immune from it at times.

Adultery is grievous as it doesn't just harm the one sinning but also his body, his spouse, and your family, as well as extended family and even church. If he is a professing believer it also tarnished Christianity, and Christ.

God is in the restoration business, and in Christ there's hope, forgiveness, reconcilliation and restoration.  Seek this through biblical counseling, church discipline, godly men holding him accountable in the chyrch (perhaps in mens group and with the leaders) to help him live holy. Later, it can be a testimony to the church of miracles God can do, and many today deal with infidelity matters so it can give hope and direction for them too.

In counseling, they can separately address his sins and salvation. They'll address and help with both of your shortcomings, educate on communication for both of you, and a more godly way forward. They'll address any abuse and have a path forward too. It's win win.

For now, Guard against bitterness, retaliation, focus on God and forgiveness and restoration. [See resources below]

Note: [Even in the end he is gone and you are by yourself should he abandon or divorce you.] God will make a way for you to continue in life, walking with God in faith and trusting him. We are not guaranteed a smooth life once saved, in fact it can get very bumpy, so hold Jesus hand at all times and be reading the Word daily and in prayer, aligning to God's Will. And remember Job, the Apostles and lives of the NT believers.

Hopefully the end result will be restoration. And I hope these resources can help you both along the way...
