Spiritual warfare re Mental/Physical health? *
Q: Someone said this, is it true?:
"Many Christians do not believe in demons and the spiritual warfare that we go through as Christian’s. Yes mental illness is very real but only Jesus can CURE. Medicine helps, science helps but only Jesus can truly set you free. You can make it to heaven with a mental illness so it’s not a matter of hell or heaven but the Bible does say that He came so that we may have life. Instead of getting defensive about mental health issues, just take time to realize that Jesus wants you to enjoy your life, He wants you to have joy and peace. If the Bible says that nothing is impossible for Him then why do we feel that mental illness is too hard for Him. Ask God to "deliver you" from any mental illness that the doctors want to diagnose you with. That doesn’t mean you can’t vent or seek counseling but it also doesn’t mean that you just rely on science and pills to somewhat make you feel better. The spiritual world is very real."
A: NO.
We are in a FALLEN world. Corruption entered. Disease and illness and death are a fact of life here. After Jesus healings (which happened en mass to show He is God) and for a time after that, (to give proof the Apostles were wuth Jesus and the message preached was true), they could heal some. But that gift ended. It's purpose was over.
Yes God heals some people. Yes some doctors get diagnoses wrong and people recover from various things, but it's a rare exception, not the rule. And always done according to God's Will... not man's (!)
None today will get healed of retardation or lost limbs, most wont be healed of mental problems related to errors in genetics at birth, or other legit conditions like cancer, MS, wheelchair or other disabilities etc. Truth:
Some things have cures today, but most dont and those folk won't be healed.
False teaching by charlatin healing sects must be exposed and rebuked!! I would rebuke and adminish whoever spreads the lies (in what you shared above) as it harms believers by claiming its only a state of mind or faith for to be cured easy etc. It's not biblical nor reality. And not to be tolerated! It causes much undue distress among weak and new believers. And those false teachings need to be exposed and strongly opposed as demonic lies.
Demons and spiritual warfare have 0 to do with a believers health. They Redeemed cannot be possessed by demons, for the Holy Spirit lives in us. We belong to God.
Spiritual Warfare is simply about fighting temptations that come our way by whispers of them, in addition to our own fleshly desires (which are the cracks in which these demonic temptations come), that we need to kill and conquer; so it has no power or sway to us anymore. We can fight and have victory (of sin) because of our new nature & by our properly using the Armor of God.
What life does God want us to have?
Spiritual life; eternal life.
Our peace and joy come from our salvation in Christ. NOT by things in this world that false teachers dangle such as happiness, health and wealth with their false gospel and false promises! Same with the demonic "deliverance" teachings invading many so called churches today.
The truth is, Upon leaving this corrupted and sin stained body for eternity, the Redeemed will be perfected -when we step thru deaths door. We will recieve a sin free body and enjoy eternity with Christ (in a sin free place).
But, no, these things are never guaranteed for on earth. And our best life is to come...in eternity. So, do not listen to these decievers, spinning subtle deception; half truths & outright lies.
