Encouraging a discouraged Sunday School teacher

Q: I only have one child in my Sunday school class. Should I stop teaching? Is it worth it? Feel discouraged at all the eirk I do only for 1 kid.

A: This testimony should encourage you...

I was in a broken mixed home and tossed to grans on weekends. Had 0 anything Christian at home, though my mom grew up under my grandfather as a temporary pastor and life long decon, and stepfather apparently had his fathers influence (but went to a diff denom). I recall going there maybe 3x (they gave out kids treasure chest junk prize to kids going into worship hall, so i remember that as a kid). He wasnt saved till after I left home.

My godly grands were my only influence, (all my life), once a week, 52 days a year, plus godly influence on holidays [as all our whole family all traveled to meet up there those days]. Includes hearing 3 TV sermons every Sunday 😁 while getting ready for church. I loved my grans, tho they didnt talk much with only me there 😅, and never talked about God on weekends at home with them, but I saw them at church among the brethren.

I was in nowhereville, the small town had a few varied religious churches and our Bible focused one, about 100 members. From grade 5 to 10 very occassionally 2 other girls would show up to Sunday School. 99% I had a teacher all to myself. And God bless that teacher faithfully preparing and teaching me every single weekend. 😭🥰. (*we moved after that and [I think it was my grans proding that lead to] my parents started going to a small church in a tiny town, and again my class was similar; but the teachers daughter was in the class weekly).

I got saved at 12. Started listening to in church sermons and growing in Bible knowledge. 39 years later I've grown well in the faith.

Even if there's only one (teacher or relative)... all their believing life that Child does things in and for the Lord that will bless you in eternity. You have no idea the countless number of folk I've shared the Gospel with, believers I've encouraged or counseled irl/online, kids I tried to share Christ with (as an adult) as a youth worker, believers lives I've blessed, soldiers I tried to influence for Christ while in military, reaching my husband in Christ, being a godly influence somehow among family, in older years helping my parents learn/share Christ in evangelism, leading my cousin to Christ after counsel, helping overv55k people saved and unsaved with my blog, and all the other work God has used me for, and will still.

So...Keep doing the Lord's work faithfully 😇
