Struggle in life & don't think God loves me

Q: I have a serious struggle.

I feel like God doesn't love me. I think He doesn’t like me either.

I don't want to list what my life has been. Lots of traumas. I don't want to say I wasn't responsible for some of the grief I experienced. I made poor choices I regret every day.

But there is this. I pray every day. I serve . I try to obey Him with all my heart.
He knows how exhausted I am. He knows how my heart is shattered in one million pieces.

Why nothing changes?
My prayer and my question is : God, why have you abandoned me?
Why you listen to other people prayers and not mine?
Why You don't love me? Am i so beyond Your love?
Why am i still alive? Is Your purpose for me just this-suffering?
I am old Lord. I can't go on like this.
Why You don't have mercy on me?

A:  There is a misconception too many have over the topic thats hidden in your lament above. I hope this can help you and others...

First, God's love.
Let's look at God and his love.

John 3:16 tells is how God loves us.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God shows love to mankind, but as this verse shows us -he showed it to us >>> in Christ. The cost to bring salvation to mankind was extreme and he went to great lengths to do this for us who don't deserve it. That's what makes Grace so amazing.

To have and experience God's love we must first have Christ. We must recieve the gift he gave us in Christ. Not in an idolatrous way but in truth according to what he revealed to us in Scripture.

Once saved we are Children of God, adopted, loved and greatly cared for. God is with all who are redeemed, and helps us through this life as we march towards death and ushers us into Christs presence. Not only that but for those who will be saved Scripture tells us an Angel is with us until the day of salvation. So take heart and rejoice. Our joy is in our salvation. Our peace is in Christ. We can confidently live no matter what we encounter as God is with us.

Second, A basic look at the world & Scripture reveals in truth that this world is full of Suffering, which includes pain, illness, disease, hardships and death. This came through Adam's sin in Eden, and until believers shed this body and leave this sin corrupted world, we will go through these problems. Fortunately our 20 to 90 years here is so very short compared to eternity, we can be happily joyfully rejoicingly be forward looking to that never ending sin free place.

Read Scripture and see all the sufferings and problems righteous people of God endured and how God was with them, and walked through it with them. There is always a reason those things happen; as you noted much of it is consequences of our own dins, other times is due to others sins, and other times it's due to the Fall or God disciplining or testing us to help us mature in faith and get & stay close to Him.

Coming to Christ doesn't prevent those sufferings or hardships, nor give you a good life here. That's a false gospel preached in far too many "churches" today. Taught by naive preachers or straight up false teachers. Those who embraced it unaware or only want that (a goid life here) from God are easily and rightly disillusioned when they dint get (what some false preacher promised), as it isn't the Gospel at all, its not what God offers us. We have many blessings in the form of special grace and care God gives us, but it isn't at all like you demanding things from God selfishly so he serves you snd your evil desires. Instead we follow Jesus example to live out the Word, be obedient and desire God's will to be done. This free pdf book explains all of this well.

This is a clear explaination of the Gospel
(video) and I encourage you to examine it, and ensure you are saved. That's the only way can you live rightly as a human and follower of Christ.

Here is helps on Suffering and a resource to help you solidify your faith, (which also helps you grasp how to biblically live life in Christ). It helps you mature in the faith, in your understanding, goes through teachings in Scripture, provides helps and counsel on various topics, and helps you understand how to wear the Armor of God and grow in the Fruit of the Spirit. I hope it blesses you.

Having a right understanding, helps arm you, give you confidence to "go with God" as you trust and rely on him in all areas. Trust His Sovereignty, and in his Holiness to always do what is right, and also what is best for you.

Our salvation makes us right with God, transforms us into a lover of righteousness, and by the Word & Spirit indwelling us we can live out our life purpose as humans and be faithful servants of God.

Serving God is what we should do, simply because it's right, it is what we were designed to do. And even if salvation wasnt offered to us sinners, we should be worshipping and serving God our Creator... as He is worthy of it.

Make sure to read the Bible daily, pray, and be an active member at a local Bible focused Church every week.

Hope this and the resources here greatly encourage & bless you 😊✨️✝️🙏
