Short Term Missions?
Q: Have you been, antly guidance, or ideas on being involved in abroad missionary work currently or recently? I would love to hear how you got involved and maybe a name of the organization/church you went with. My church doesn’t really do missions and was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Thank you 🩷
A: Check with your local association of churches.
Personally stm are not worth the money and time spent. From all the reports I've heard [from ones ive funded at solid churches] the volunteer simply does things thats fun related and theres hardly to no focus on the Gospel proclimation. What they do is like kids stuff at Sunday School as like a helper. I was so disappointed about this. The leader there shares the Gospel at the end.
Imo our time and money are better used going into our community intentionally sharing the Gospel, and adding the converts to the church.
The only stm I would recommend is one associated with Livingwaters.com. they have a training Ambassadors academy. You can go to England (Corronation) or Paris (Olympics) type events. LA will have one soon.
If a nearby church has a WOTM training... go to it.
