Difficulty desiring friendships at Church, lack desire to be part of that community, over the anime & drama community

Q: While I made friends, at church... I no longer want to be friends with them. They’re not the typical crowd that I look for when it comes to friends. I’m like the odd ball of the group.  I also get clique vibes from the church I attend.

Right now I’m feeling like I just wanna attend church because I do like the sermons and the pastor and ofc the worship but once service is over I just wanna leave and get back home. Don’t really wanna make friends there.

I’m learning about myself that I enjoy being by myself.

Also, I get overstimulated very easily, and I have interest that are not very common especially with people of my culture like anime or K dramas .

Am I wrong for not wanting to make friends at church. Can’t I just attend church for the service and go home? I tried it out and it’s just not me.

Some advice 🥺?

A: It might be that you have a wrong understanding of Church & the Christian life. You might also be neglecting to read the Bible daily, and not walking right in the Faith
So in this and other areas you need realign to right mindset and change course. These are all basics of being a Christian.

These are the redeemed you will be with in eternity. So we are to form strong bonds, see them as brethren, look past & forgive their short comings & sins to see them as family. You aren't perfect either but they embrace you. God grows us in sanctification in many areas (into maturity) by who and where he puts us and what we go through. Love on them and persevere. The good news is you, me and they are all flawed but in eternity all the ungodly things about is will be gone. All will be right 247.

If you need to change to another church that is possible, but you can't church hop and need to put roots down. The church you go to needs to be biblical and the place your life is guided by and active at for your good and growth. The leaders there are responsible to God for shepherding you, and believers there are to help guide and counsel you too.

These can help

I am not Asian & like some kdramas and some anime, though theres few of any value, but I will stress caution regarding them as most of the content can cause you to sin in thoughts life, and worldly things shouldn't be the focus or waste of your time on earth. You need to store up treasure in Heaven and for your eternal position there. All of that is based on how you live in this life, as a believer. God has good works planned to do through you here and you need to know Scripture, be at church and looking for the opportunities in all places and times where He might be wanting to use you, for that.

The believers at church should be the kind of friends you look for; ones living holy lives as followers of Christ. Not w folk whose life has focus on the temporary things of this life. The local church is your most important place on earth. What you have in common with the people at church is "Christ, growing in the Faith, conquering sins, serving God & others, and proclaiming the Gospel". It is why believers are still on earth after getting saved.

Our life was bought by Christ. It's no longer our own, to go do whatever we want. We need to serve Him well and right. And if we're not on that path we need to turn and get back on it, or examine ourselves to see if we are not saved, and getting that matter taken care of today.

It is okay to spend a few years deep diving into Scripture to grow, and giving relationships there at church time to grow. This way you can get closer to God, be educated in Scripture (to self counsel & be able to share the Gospel), and can give time to intentionally get closer to the brethren there as well. But don't seek ways to wiggle out or make excuses, or neglect what is right to be doing. You need to understand your role as a believer, and like Jesus -be about your Father's business.

God bless
