Should Christians have interest in Greek mythology?
Q1: As Christians, how important do you think it is to study Greek mythology? I don't mean Greek history, but mythology?
A: Brief overview is fine. If you can find something that talks about it from a biblical viewpoint that's better.
Heres some info on Jesus and how all the religions borrow from Christianity and add Jesus to their beliefs.
Ultimately we know the original and true belief was: YHWH, and humanity began in Eden with Adam & Eve.
It is good to teach our kids about these false world religions, beliefs and gods but we need to teach them about the original [truth] first, so they can see the counterfeit (just like bank tellers study the original to spot the counterfeits). This can help solidify their Christian faith.

Q2: I like reading Greek mythology books. And I like learning about the history of Greek mythology. I don’t worship their ‘gods’ but I enjoy entertainment media surrounding those myths. Is this a sin?
A: If the purpose is apologetics, some examination of them is useful. Best to look at it from Christian authors view so it is in alignment with Biblical worldview. Outside of that, it is false religions of the past, so you need to be very careful... here is why:

You have to decide what is most important, honoring God and only putting God pleasing things in your mind, or going the ways of the world? The more you're [being lured into it] the less time you spend in the Bible and on Christian growth in the Faith. Which can lead you into sin and away from God. Best choice is to avoid those things.
