Where is the fellowship for the elderly in care?
Why is it after pastors retire, the association men, the state men, and the SBC convention men seldom contact them for fellowship. I have a pastor friend in an assisted living home who is lonely to hear from his DOM and preacher friends. He has been there a couple of years but he says I’m among the very few who contact him. Sad we let old soldiers of the Cross die alone! And the other elderly members of the church too.
A: Churches have forsaken the flock once they go into long term care... and this is wrong!
I remember as a young kid (7-12) our church went to old folks home and did a lil fellowship and worship with them. Before we even went to lunch!
It was so lovely. I loved my grandparents and liked the older folk in the small church (loved seeing them as I grew older, and sad to see over yrs so many had gone on to glory).
But there's such a shame churches today dont gather with these saints who are left alone and sad. Many who only had the church as their family.
Today, I call all churches to make this a regular ministry among the congregation to care for the elderly in this way again.
MZAlpha will have technology to help connect them in some way, like chats and stuff to interact with believers, but in person fellowship is needed. And will be for now Boomers and Gen X [and early Millenials] too. Theyll need people to actively care about them, and go see them, in their elderly care years.
Revive these ministries.
