Help studying Tabernacle and Law in Exodus

Image
Do you have any tips for reading through the Pentateuch, specifically through the description of the tabernacle in Exodus, and the Law of Leviticus? I’m trying to grow in the knowledge of Scripture, but I’m having a hard time getting through these portions. A: Yes, glad to help.  The Tabernacle is a beautiful representation of who Jesus is and what HE does for us. It points to the true dwelling place of God in Heaven.  Every item in the tabernacle was given by God to display truth. It shows what each item proclaims about the sinner’s need, God’s provision, and the ultimate fulfillment in the coming Messiah [in Greek: the "Christ"].  See images provided below.  Further study:  Challies has an info graphic on Tabernacle with good details. I do know JV McGee Thru the Bible series explains this [and other OT similar things (feasts, holidays, etc)] in regards to God and Christ symbology. He goes through each item.  Its free at blueletterbible.org* audios. I ha...

Afraid to leave bf/gf need advice

Image
Q: Ive been in a relationship with my bf for over 8 years and I am now turning towards God. I am not sure how to end this relationship. Advice?  A: The main question is who do you love? A sinful man or JESUS the one you claim is your Savior & God? That answer immediately tells you where your heart is and where your allegiance and priority is. And will guide your next action steps.  While it's unfathomable to be in a relationship for that long (without gaining legal protections & rights for you),... but also apparently this turned out to be a grace from God - you arent stuck married unequally yoked for life to him! So depending on your answer to the question...If it is a sinful human then you dont love God and wont fear him properly nor take action to be obedient to Him.  Your bf is not going to miraculously "get saved" when you announce you are leaving. He might lie just to try to keep you. Believers are not to be in relationships with unsaved people.  Flee ...

Child's Baptism invite rejected by Family

Image
Q: My children responded to the Gospel of Jesus, and they are being obedient to God  to get baptized at our church. I believe they really got saved. They are excited about the baptism this Sunday. It is interesting and great they're all doing it the same day.  They told family & invited their grandfather (my dad) to come and see them get baptized. He very rudely and bluntly told them no and that he didn't go to church. My kids started begging and asking him to please come "just this once", and he still said no. He got slightly angry with them for continuing to ask. This rejection hurt my kids - they don't grasp why he doesn't want to be there. They are having a hard time understanding that the reason he doesn't want to be & there has nothing to do with them. I've told them that not everyone understands their relationship with Jesus, but we can pray for non Christians. My dad was never a believer.  Growing up a lot of the time I was not allow...

Helps finding my calling

Image
Q: I am actively attending Church and am serving... but I am wondering what bible studies, books & resources might speak to believers in regards to understanding their walk, their purpose, and if they are even called, their calling.   A:  As far as our life purpose ... Man’s chief end and highest purpose in life is "to glorify God and enjoy Him forever", (Romans 11:36; 1 Corinthians 6:20; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Psalm 86:9).  God says, “Bring all who claim me as their God, for I have made them for my glory. It was I who created them ” (Isaiah 43:7). If you are looking for an answer more in connection to living out our purpose with knowing God's Will for our life, this will help.  1. Relating to the living out of your faith in righteousness these resources can help. This  could be a helpful start. They focus on Christian living; walking in righteousness, incl. the Fruit of the Spirit. Additionally you will find more in the books section and on the age/status page.  There are more studies here  for Christian living and on Sanctification too, which are part of the below linked site.   We grow in holiness through sanctification. So once you grasp something, apply it and live in it. One after another. God will bring you situations where you have opportunity to practice doing these things, so just seek to do so when situations arise, problems, trials etc and look for ways in every day life to live them out (even if others dont know or dont see it 😊, God does).  * Bookmark this page so you can go through it all in the coming weeks and months.
