Young Teen seeks guidance

I'm 13, I don't know what I am truly doing right know in my life. I've given my life to Christ March 2023, since then, I am learning to incorporate God's word into my life. But, right now, I read the verse Revelations 2:5 "Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first."

I have questions to myself which are: "why did you even become a christian" and "how can you move foward loving Jesus with all your heart"

I feel as though I'm not good enough for God. For the past few months I've strived away from what my christian life was. Back when I first became a christian, I was energetic, eager, and overall exited to learn more about God. But, now it seems like I don't have the same feelings.

These are my questions:

1. How can I get to back where I was when I first believed?
2. How can I turn away from sins?
3. Why, when I am in my prayers time, or my time with God I grasp the knowledge to become a devoted christian. But, when I'm at school or practice why am I a different person? How can I put whatever my knowledge that I have about God to wherever or whenever I may be?

A: It all begins with God changing your inner person. Specifically before we are saved we are dead spiritually when God saves us he converts us into a new creation. We are given spiritual life; what was lost in Eden. So God radically transforms us. We recieve Jesus righteousness and in some ways it is pictured in Scripture like put on us like a covering or robe, and like the blood that covered the doors just before the Exodus. Just like the bloody animal skins put on Adam and Eve that pointed to Jesus sacrifice.

So we now, by God causing us to be born again, have the righteous nature of Jesus. We love righteousness and hate sin. We turn from sin, conquer sin and it no longer has any temptations over us. Satan's temptations no longer have anything to draw us into the sins we killed and were victorious over.

So we grow in "sanctification". We put God's Word into our heart and mind so we can apply it and live it out. God grows us in knowledge thru Scripture every day of our life. And we mature more and more, become more and more holy and more Christlike. So... stay close to Scripture reading it daily. Memorize important verses so you treasure it in your heart too and the Holy Spirit will bring it to your remembrance in various times.

Here are some good resources to help you as you grow in faith and there is a section there for men too.

Ensure you received the biblical Gospel because it is why we come to Jesus. To be right with God, love God, and for righteousness.
