Q: Nice & Forgiving

Q: called too nice, & forgiving

As long as I can remember I’ve been labeled as “too nice”. I’ve never seen this as a bad thing, but some think I shouldn’t forgive people who have wronged me. I know that there are times where we need to guard ourselves, but I don’t like to hang on to grudges and anger. I may not forget what someone has done, but I am able to forgive them.

I still hold people accountable and recognize what has happened, but I also move on and can still be kind to those people, and give them the opportunity to grow and show that they can change.

Holding onto that anger seems like so much work and I’ve seen people in my life become mean and unhappy because they won’t forgive others. Is my ability to forgive a weakness and am I “too nice”?

A: We [the born again] are [given a new nature at conversion] called to be Christlike and that by our righteous nature [as a redeemed one] we are to live out love. That includes loving God and others. What is in that... patience, self control, long suffering, mercy, grace, forgiveness, etc.

We are not to live in resentment, bitterness, anger, discontentment, ingrattitude or complaining. Those are assaults on God's character.

So those saying that to you might not realize how [the transformed] believers are to live in holiness & radiating Christ's righteousness, or they arent saved and know nothing about the Christian life. Many false converts exist.

We dont just let people walk all over us, but we do live in humility.

"Love is humility in action. And it leads to selfless service" -J Mac

Just keep growing in the faith and being a forgiving person. It shines forth to the world that God is in you. 🥰
