Stop having kids?
Q: I am currently pregnant with our 6th child and I’m excited and terrified. I’m 35 next year and I have been pondering if after I give birth this time should I get my tubes tied. I’m torn because on the one hand I don’t know how God would feel about it but on the other hand I don’t think we would be able to support any more children after this. I’m going to pray about it but seeking godly advice.
A: We need to do things God's way, as we live in this sin stained world.
God always provides. If he creates the human in the womb then it is meant to be.
If we are in the right design (married & having kids, & wife at home) then God will provide for your husband and meet all your basic needs if both of you are living in righteousness. 🙂
Matthew 6:33
But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Rom. 8:28
We know all things together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
I will note that, we are in a fallen world where corruption, deformities, miscarriages, suffering, pain and death exist. Surgeries for lost babies, moms body care needs, and risks for women, are part of what came with the Fall.
But... God is in control. He knows our every need and our life span. He is with us in difficulties and we can praise and glorify Him in those times, use it to he a light and witness to the world of our faith, and our faithfulness as righteous redeeemed ones of Christ, to submit and to grow mature in the faith thru trials. To try to take matters into our hands is not trusting God, saying he is not trustworthy, is living rebellion not righteousness. Let us not live in the sinful ways of the old man (our sinful desires) who was crucified to death when we got saved. We are to show the world the right way to live.
If God gives you more children then it is His Will and to bless you. He will provide the basics and you need to be good or better stewards of what he provides ($ etc), ... and even if you are poor, so was Jesus & Apostle Paul revealed he knew how to get along fine with little or when blessed with a bit more. Not saying you will stay poor or be poor but it that is where God places you you need to be grateful to Him for provisions and providence otherwise you assault God's character and that means you need to 1. Make sure you are saved, and 2. grow more in knowledge, wisdom and truth in Scripture to better live in righteousness moment by moment as a Christ follower growing into Christian maturity, making life less and less about you and more and more lived in Him too.
I recommend prayer, seeking Scripture guidance, and thinking in righteousness (not in selfish old sin nature & pagan worldviews) as you go through these thoughts and submit to God's Will. 🤗✝️
Now, if you are not saved and you are fornicating and having children out of wedlock... that is consequences of sin even if God blesses your life thru that child. Consequences of doing what by design produces a child can lead to a child. You are both responsible for it and caring and raising it up (and in the Lord). Stop sinning if you are saved and live rightly.
If you have kids out if wedlock 1. do not marry this child's Father if he is unsaved, professes as Christian but his life doesnt show he is holy and living a life transformed by God [including in how he spends time in Bible daily, prays, aligns to God's Will not his etc]. You need to vett him very well. 2. Repent of your sins and begin living rightly.
If you are saved & currently have any kids out of wedlock, you need to go find a godly man to marry so you are all under the marriage/family design God created which is to bless and protect you all, and is a witness to the world "of the Gospel". He will be their father and will act as Christ who loves the church in his care for you all, and children and wife are to lovingly submit to his leadership.
And rememberif it is God's will... your husband or family can have a business or side job [if it doesnt affect your home life], or he can change jobs... but your husband's work & how your family is run (at home as a mini kingdom or church being ruled by Jesus) needs to be done in righteousness and as one serving the Lord. Both home life and his work - It is all to be done as if he is our boss because he is our Lord. This Scripture teaches. So whatever work or career it needs to be in righteousness [in every thought, way, plan, purpose, and in carrying out every task]. Not selfishly or sinfully chasing money. If the work is blessed to bring in money thats fine, riches shouldnt be the goal though... God provides. We must be reliant on him.
Our focus is to be on eternity to come, heavenly minded. This world is not our home. We are just traveling through it on our way to that gloryland.
God bless.
