New Years planning with kids

As we start the new year, I want to sit down with my kids individually and access this past year and consider the coming year.

Some of the questions I would give them ahead of time.

For example, I’ll ask/discuss:
🔹Was there a Bible reading plan you are interested in this year, or a devotional we can look into.

🔹Ask if they have spiritual struggles. (Depending on their age, this could be something to teach/discuss or just to pray about)

🔹What was one high point and one low point of your year?
🔹Looking at the past year as a whole, what's one of your biggest takeaways on how God sanctified you in it?

🔹Ask about their identity in Christ. (As it relates to living in the fake world of social media, and the world that continually feeds all kinds of lies about how we see ourselves)
🔹What are your current worries? What burdens do you carry that I can be praying for? Making sure they know they can tell you anything.
🔹is there anything as a mom or dad I need to ask your forgiveness?
🔹are there things I can do that would encourage you?
🔹what are some of your favorite things about this past year?
🔹 encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

Other ideas

Depending on their age there’s going to be a rather large discrepancy in the questions and topics I will discuss with them, and with the older ones I may not cover everything in one sitting. I’d like to make this a priority to schedule these times more regularly during the year. Maybe at family round table meetings.
