HoMeScHoOlEd Nosy Questions

Sometimes Homeschooled parents and kids run into some nosy Nancy in public who starts getting into your business.

You live in a free country and a land of liberty. You homeschool and by law have it registered as a private school.

You are looking for ways to respond to the nosy and the kind but curious folk while out and about. Here are some ideas and good additional ideas to swing it to the Gospel.
1. A persons nosy rude interference in your day w Questions about your kids.

⭐ Main reply:
Our kids are in Private School...
Our kids are Homeschooled...

"It's best for our kids because":
*It provides flexibility and freedom, as you can see 🙂
*We are a moving Military family
*We are a patriotic family
*My husband runs a successful youtube travel business so we are always on the go
*We dont want our kids shot up at school
*We dont want our kids bullied at public School
* We dont want our child raped by a "Trans" person in the bathroom.
*We do not want our child showering with opposite sex after P.E.
*We care about our kids, so why would we put them in a cesspool like todays public school. I'm sure you could think of 3 reasons right now not to, too.
* We are America loving "Independants, Republican, Libertarian" and we dont want our kids brainwashed by the extreme liberal agenda happening there

* "We are unschooling right now as we transition to homeschooling which is a private school funded by the government."
[$4,500/student / yr]

*Our kids are excelling in their school work, learning important things not taught in school, are more socialized than PS kids, have good manners, behaviors, & have less emotional and anxiety issues because they are properly cared for by their parents, and by the quality homeschooling community educating them. 🌟

*9 million Americans have been hime schooled through 2020 and 1/3 of Public School students after covid decided to stay a homeschooler. It is the best way to go because of freedom and flexibility. Colleges also love homeschoolers.

*We chose what was best for our childrens education and emotional well being just like 3.7 million other families in the US. While 5.8 million who dumped theirs in public school or the close to a million families who sent theirs away to private schools. Fun fact: homeschooling is also legally a private school. And ours is a high quality learning environment.

Or Reply with:
A. *We are running late for their next class and don't have time to chat, but thanks a million for your interest [and hand a $ tract] & have a blessed day.

B. If you take time to chat, or plan to enter a gospel convo.... continue when they reply....

Sarcasm:
*Why is their education your business.
Give them a strange look and ask very bluntly, "do you also do this to public or private school students, or do you just single out homeschooled kids?"
*Why do you think intruding on our day is a proper usage of your time?

Nicer:
*With the way things are nowadays 😉 it’s better for kids to be homeschooled more & more parents are choosing this, just as involved parents did for centuries. Ours are in a Co-op group so they move around home to home, and are not just educated by live teachers online.
*People work from home today and many choose the well rounded time tested method of a good education via homeschooling.

*“We’re still on holiday break” or things like that that don’t spark up unwarranted conversation.
*We're on a "Hanja-time" break. [If they ask what that is you can be nice and say "it is part of Korean language course"; it means you can speak your mind to those older than you. And "i guess you wouldnt know that if you went to a public school"-- thus completing Hanja time 😆]. If parent is keen on it you could finish with "You just experienced a moment of class on the go outside. Homeschooling has freedom."

Reply:
"Because we dont want our kids in the cesspool of public school system. Are you unaware of the 20+ reasons why sane parents wouldnt leave their kids in that warzone, with its additional brainwashing and grooming? Or Schools taking phones away so kids have no access to call 911 at the next shooting?  Or dealing with predator teachers outside even the lgbt issue, not to mention drugs and sex happening, or all the other behavior problems of school kids that cause even teachers to leave, but yet....kids are stuck in that school? This isnt 1980. Any good parent knows the PS system has been a no go since 2006, and millions of parents woke up to this since covid era and decided to keep their kids at home and do whatever it takes to homeschool. They care about their kids and want the best for them.

Btw, Did you know 3.7Mil kids are homeschooled each year? Plus... after covid era 1/3 of the ones from public schools continued in homeschooling."

When they try to hit you or kids with school Qs b4 you can get to #2 below

*Child: STRANGER DANGER, STRANGER DANGER!
*My children are not circus monkeys here for your amusement.
*You are not their teacher so they will not be responding to you, and it is family rule not to talk to strangers. Christian/Home schooled children obey their parents.

Lotto Quiz:
Or if at a gas station or store you can point to the store and say: fun fact not many who play the lotto win. People are willing to take a gamble for success. But when it comes to another gamble there are much higher stakes, because it can end in a permanent loss. Before I tell you what that is... if you can name the 10 things, from a list I give you, you'll win some bucks/a in & out gift card. Wanna try to win it?

This requires memorization, and is one parent & teen can tag team on:
[Parent] Fun fact did you know you have a 1 in 10 chance of winning a lotto prize? You could play our quiz to obtain something even better. Willing to try it 😀? [older kid gets a go:] #1 [Goes thru test]... "Name as many of the 10 commandments as you can." [Names them] #2 "of the 10 [name them] which have you actually kept perfectly in thought word and deed your entire life?" #3. "If you havent kept the Law of God perfectly then you are not a good person right."... But there is one good person Jesus Christ, and because of Him and the work he did by his life, death and resurrection God can grant us forgiveness of our sins (once and for all) -- and give us eternal life. We have a 100% odds of going to Heaven if we genuinely repent and put our trust in Christ. Isnt that fantastic news? We will be transformed by God so we can live rightly and will want to live rightly because God gave us the power to do so. Would you like to get right with God today and gain a relationship with Him and eternal life?"
[Regardless how it ends, offer a MDB tract.]

If a sorta sketchy neighborhood say:
As nice as possible:
Is there a reason you speak to children when you're out and about instead of getting their parents permission? Have you heard of pedo? or chester the molester? How about the good person test? [Hand them a MDB] wish a nice day, and go.

⭐responding to quizing you:
2. hit them with:

Blunt/Ruder responses or kindly rude:
*Why are you bothering other free citizens, and not at work? Did public school teach you to be a slacker?
*Blankly stare at them and say “that’s a really weird thing to say/ask a complete stranger”
*Are you a truancy officer? We do not need to ask that
Do you quiz the Amish, Muslims or anyone else who are in other legally operated private schools like ours? Or the 5.85 million in public School?
*Did she finish high school or get a GED? Did she finish collage? Where did she go? Was it with honors. [Go as rapidly as possible]. .
*Ask them: a ridiculously hard math question and when they can’t solve it, say “I guess public school didn’t do much for you”
*Or: when they ask, just say “I’m surprised you’re comfortable saying that out loud” that immediately shuts people up.

Less rude sounding replies:

*My kids arent stuck in a classroom but get a well rounded education and socialize; we are headed to violin class/Martial Arts class/Creation Museum/Local Library, Italian lessons, Volunteer work, registering their business, getting their business supplies, etc. [say this if you are going to or coming back from].

*Our kids learn finances which has never been a life skill taught in schools, and only a couple have started too recently. We also learn things most kids never learn in public school or in college both academic and of the arts as well as other things. We are preparing our kids for actual success, not to be a worker cog in the system. [Optional: In the end we all live and die; do you think you are headed to Heaven?]

*Our schooling has given our kids a well rounded education, freedom and ability to start their own business. They are all learning skills public schools do not teach and cannot match in quality if they tried.

*“We’re learning life skills today and evidently, how to respond to rude and intrusive people. Thank you for your participation in my children’s/our education. Have a good day”. 😊.

Not rude but right to it:
* This State doesnt have a truancy law so you are not a truancy officer...
But I am an officer "of the Law": do you consider yourself to be a good person? [Hand them a MDB and say] take the test and see if you are. Have a great day.

Nicer responses:
*I was homeschooling in the 80s and had a good social life, and now I make a very good living.

*Have you not seen all the news reports over the last 5 to 10 yrs of homeschoolers graduating college by age 14, there was a recent girl who did it when she was 9. Homeschooling kids are educatively well rounded, and socialize more than public school students do, plus it is of higher quality.

Quick Quiz back at em:
*Did you know homeschoolers on average are 33% smarter than public school kids, they grow up less rebellious, with manners and are good citizens. And 78% of peer-reviewed studies on academic achievement show homeschool students perform statistically significantly better than those in institutional schools.

*Did you know 3.7Mil kids are homeschooled each year, and after covid era 1/3 of them from public school stayed homeschooling. And 5.8 million college students are home schooled for their online college education.

Kids Responses:
Non rude:

*“Ph I already did my math work for today”... but heres a quize for you. See how you measure up 😊. [Hand a MDB]

3 options on this one:
1.Politely: "I can tell you were not private nor homeschooled. Fun fact: both btw are the same thing."😁. Fun fact #2 - 3.7 million students are home schooled. [>This can leave you as parent open for a gospel convo; so reward your kids later if this scenario happens and works/ helps you get to the gospel].

2.Teens: Politely:
Fun fact: 3.7 million students are home schooled, we are just one. Fun fact2: there are not as many good people in the world as people think there are. Take the quiz and see if you are one [hands a MDB].

3. Age 11 to 19 response
*Politely: "I can tell you were not private nor homeschooled. Quick quiz what is the difference between a good person and a decent person?
Listen to their answer and say: check your answer here on the back 😁. Have a great day.

4. *No thanks, We've/I've already taken our/my quiz for today. Here's a quiz for you tho [hand MDB]: it reveals who is a good person. 😁 No spoilers so check it out.

It is preferable to be kind as a Christian even in responses so pick the better the ones to use. 🙏

If you want to share the Gospel with them then def pick a more polite response so you can swing/get to it.

One homeschooling mom said:
I had a woman quiz my kid what the Latin word for balloon was a few weeks ago lol. Had to educate her that Latin is a dead language so there isn't a Latin word for things invented or discovered after the language died. And that only those who have good educations would know that.

You could use that also as a quiz thing.
Either you or your teen, but dont make it sound rude:
There once was a nosy person who quizzed on something they shouldnt have. They asked a kid about the Latin word for balloon... and had to be educated that Latin is a dead language so there isn't a Latin word for things invented or discovered after the language died. The moral of the story is that only those who have good educations would know that. Here's a quick quiz for you Who goes to Heaven? [Wait for reply] ...Are you a good person?....

😊⭐🙏

If you bookmark this page and save it to your phone home screen 😂 you can say "☝ hold on a sec" whip it open, review the response path you want to go on and say "Sorry about that.... [say the response]. 😁

God bless.

Q: How do you answer homeschooling critics who say things like "How can you teach your children better than a professional with a teaching degree?"

A: Say "It's common sense that one-on-one instruction is far superior to a class of varying abilities and interests. If my child grasps a concept (say in math) then we move on. If it takes a week to get something, we can slow down and to ensure he gets it. He would fall far behind in PS otherwise. Currently he is further ahead than they are.

Teaching 30 kids is a different skill set than teaching my one child. PS system doesn't allow for individualized attention and learning styles, whereas homeschooling does. We are confident in our decision to educate our family.

Once I identify a subject I can’t teach I outsource. My high schooler has all outsourced classes because she has surpassed my ability to teach her subjects. Most people can teach elementary school level stuff and into middle school, especially one on one. And for things they can’t teach, today, we have so many more resources with the internet and well-developed homeschool support networks since 1980 home schooling has come a long way. But let's not forget... Homeschooling was the only way before the first World War. Generations of people were smary and turned out just fine being educated at home.

Dr. Peter Gray: “We have forgotten that children are designed by nature to learn through self-directed play and exploration, and so, more and more, we deprive them of freedom to learn, subjecting them instead to the tedious and painfully slow learning methods devised by those who run the schools.”

The professional with the degree is only doing what they're told. There's a whole entire curriculum that's already planned out for them before they even start their year. And we're not doing anything differently. We are actively involved... and it builds up a great relationship with our kids. We are closer because of it. They also have freedom to learn faster and will likely graduate high school with an AA degree too."

Comments about "YouR KiDs ArEnT SoCiAlIzInG"
*Actually homeschooled kids are more socialized than public school kids. And have more quality socialization too.

News in 2024 has told us MZ Gen are avoiding socialization:

-People say they now prioritize alone time over socializing on the weekends (Business Insider)

-You Can Stop Forcing Yourself to Socialize says Psychology Today.
A new study finds extra socializing provides diminishing returns for well-being

Our kids have little to no anxiety, have socialization skills too... unlike Gen Z who have to take mandatory ettiquette and "eye contact" training at their job 🙄 ... because they cant even interact with people on basic levels. Public Schools and colleges have failed them for 16 years apparently. That isn't a problem with our kids.

Dealing with situations where a PS parent posts about your child online and calls him a "sheltered homeschooler", as if implying her son befriended a "loser", and the parent allowed the friendship as a favor/good deed towards "that poor kid."
