Homeschool: On Ambleside

It is free as far as curriculum goes, and can be as close to free as you want it to be. It’s a Charlotte Mason education, which is a beautiful philosophy and method of education. Perfect for teaching a variety of ages.

Lesson plans are so easy to follow and Biblically centered.
Ambleside specifically lays out books that you would buy in order to implement their specific curriculum. The books are mostly classics and many are out of print by the publishers and so most can be found free online if budget is an issue. I mostly just plan ahead and pick up books at thrift stores/used book stores over time so I’m not ordering a bunch all at once. They have links for the online versions as well as ones you can purchase right on their website.

It’s not “open and go” which some people value, but if you don’t mind doing a bit of legwork to put together a beautiful education, it’s a good way to go. I started it with my first, and have 4 kids, so I know that once all that legwork is done, it’s done for everyone so it’s more than worth it.
