Because homeschool friend circle dwindles in some towns in the tween/teen years it might be harder to find friends your kids age still homeschooling. Very sad that they dump their kid back in the PS cesspool. I would NEVER recommend it for any reason.
So big recommendation is... to find out what parents at your church are either determined and firm to homeschool their kids through high school and find the ones in Christian homeschool coops in your greater community who are firmly set to do the same. Then they can find long term friends from among them.
If they need to add new friends in High School years even after that, (esp if your church doesnt have saved fruit bearing teens), then look in your County at solid similar Churches youth groups, and from among those in local Christian FB groups who are planning to go to the colleges your kids are [so you can vett them and their family - then introduce the kids] ...& they can get together and meet up regularly for chaperoned ministry minded meets and hanging out at your place. 😊
Homeschoolers have sleep over freedom and those kids (same gender) can come over for a couple days at a time besides Saturdays.
You can also share these with them (on the tv - while visiting), so you help solidify those kids faith too alongside your child before they all leave high school 🌟
If those kids don't remain in the faith in college, your child will have found some born again friends in protestant campus clubs... esp if you send them to a solid biblical school.
