Should we use pre recorded Prayers?
Cautions on Pre recorded prayers
Is there anything wrong with pre recorded prayers? No. It is a pretty neat idea tbh.
Why would someone listen to or pray prerecorded prayers? Well, it helps you remember what you want to regularly pray for. Spurgeon prayed 3 hours a day. Mind you he traveled by horse too.
Looking at the list of things one could pray about, seems it would be helpful to ensure you cover everything.
You can at the beginning of prayers (whenever you pray without ceasing during the day) start with the most urgent ones such as sin you need to deal with during the day to keep short accounts with God, and then the issues that come about in the day which you add to your short or long term prayer list [adding on your notes app is fine].
At your designated focused time of private prayer at home you can pray the current prayers & needs, the new items, the temporary prayers and then the long list of regular ongoing long term prayers. For long term (5 minute increments) do them by topic.
Of course instead of listening to or repeating long prayers you can skim over the list and ask for continued prayer for everything on that long list. God knows your heart on the matter.
Long prayers are not needed but you can use that time instead to be in the Word or hearing the word instead. So if you have a 10 min prayer time, a few times a day, that is also fine.
For recording prayers, I recommend recordings in 5 minute increments and add short term prayer recordings together at the end of the day for the following day - a temp prayer playlist. And then you have your regular prayer playlist broken up by topic to listen to 5 minutes a day as you pray them following along. 🙏
I know there are some prayers out there on youtube but do not use those. Create your own. Do not let your kids listen to those either; 😀 Record mom and dad and grandparents and pastor saying certian prayers appropriate for your childs age for their night time fall asleep prayer list.
Some parents did do yt playlists but stopped after finding out it looped over to odd chanting & 😱 no idea what went into their kids mind all night. Best to just make your own prayers. Take from the below list, and get ideas beyond that from your life and what is around you.
There is always something to pray for as you go about your day. Even traveling; at a red light or when you see ambulance, fire, or police vehicles. Lit up or not.
There is always time too; standing in lines from coffee, and from food orders to the bank.
