Miss Old Church and peers
Q: We used to go to a different church but we moved. I want to go to the previous church for varying reasons. What do I need to consider about this?
A:First you need to know that God has moved you here and it is where he wants you. 😊Next, as a family you are now going somewhere else and need submit & be together. You are under your parents authority and need to obey and honor them.
Also, you haven't lost anything God hasnt removed from your life. Unless some are bad company, you can still connect in diff ways with solid believers from prev church; invite over to hang out, see them at school, stay in touch online (like at Facebook).
You will be making new associations, peer associates, (and if you moved away, also at your home school co-op), and friends at your new church even if it is a place where there are few youth.
God does remove people from our lives who are not good for us, and that includes when he reveals you need to walk away from that relationship(s). You will move schools usually in 7th grade, 9th grade and then off to college. It is good to be socialable and interact with people but you will actually [it is normal] lose most of those relationships irl as you get older and transition to all those places. Plus after college those friendships fade as do relationships from job company to job. And same goes for when your family moves or if your job moves around. Fortunately in today's digital era you can still maintain a connection even if distant through fb [good place to have long term friend circles at] and linkedin [for work]. A couple good social network places are worth your time but free yourself from multiple ones so you can go live life in the real world.
As far as your current situation. Ask your parents if you can invite a couple good Christian friends over sometimes from the old church. They can join you and your new Christian friends to hang out. And if your new church doesnt have ministries to be involved in or youth camps ask your parents if they could find ones you can go to (associated with current church or former church). They do want you to have good friends, and be able to do things [if they have money for it].
I would just pick the ones who are more mature in the faith so you can both have a solid faith relationship and be good influences on each other.
So here or even other areas of your life if it seems a bummer it doesnt work out or if your parents approve something (good) then it was meant to be. God is directing that and for good reasons, even if you dont understand it right now. If God allows it then it was in His plan for you. 😊
Remember we are to live in God's Will and not our selfish self centered desires. It will all work out. And God's plans are way better than what we could imagine... even if we dont see the benefit or purpose for several years.
