Is not reading the Bible bad? *

Q: Is not reading the Bible and praying daily a sin?
A: In OT times the people didnt individually have a copy of the Scriptures but even in NT Bible times only the church had a copy. It was expensive and took years to copy it. Once it was completed and copies made available to believers to have (later on at the reformation and since then...) we can all have a copy. So we should hunger for and want to devour it like living bread or living water, as a Christian. And want to read it and get the most out of it daily. It is a real blessing in this era to be able to own a copy. ๐Ÿค—

Plus by having a copy we are able to have God communicate ๐Ÿ—ฃ with us daily as we ๐Ÿ“–read, ๐Ÿ—ƒmemorize verses and ๐Ÿ˜‡ meditate on it. Ray Comfort said it well that: the Bible is God communicating with us. It really is the most intimate relationship we have with anyone; He is always with us. So... if I had a bff or a spouse we would never go a day without them talking to and communicating to me ... so too with God. The Bible is God communicating to us. If we dont let him talk to us then we are left wondering... do we even love Him and even have a relationship? Relationships arent one sided. You cant be the only one doing the talking, right? And, no relationship would last if you only let them speak to you for a short time once a week (on Sunday) either.

Something to consider ๐Ÿ˜Š.

A easy way to start a new habit today is set an alarm scheduled daily on your phone. You can easily read through the Bible every year if you read 15 min a day in the morning.

You can get a daily Bible in print or read digitally. This one offers both. So maybe that is your reading plan starting today.
*Right now it is the end of the year so just pick up where it is, and come Jan you will start over at Genesis. However if you buy the Print version you can start in John to Rev. Then OT just by using a book mark to track where you are day to day. So if OT seems a hard start place... just do that option.

You can get the print version here
I really like it!

PS. the Daily Readings with Christ is a 3 volume option and you can go through that (the following year) for 3 years ๐Ÿ™‚.

If you do the Daily Bible first... you do read through the OT at least once, which is important... the OT really is important !

Note. Not sure if the Jesus devotional digital ver has all 3 or only mixes various volumes on a annual cycle; one version.
