Does the Bible talk about drugs

A: Yes. But even if it didnt, we can look at history. It was used by pagans to do nefarious things to others or as part of pagan worship, [even during pagan temple prostitution], (and to use it to avoid life problems just as today some do with drugs & alcohol).

See what Scripture taught about pagan "pharmakeia".

Beyond stewardship, as Christians, our bodies are not our own. We "have been bought with a price" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), not "with perishable things like silver or gold . . . but with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ" (1 Peter 1:17-19). Having bought us with His own life, Christ has delighted to create in us something entirely new, something somewhat bizarre. By indwelling us with His Spirit, He has turned us into organic temples of sorts. So now, caring for our health is not just a matter of good stewardship. It is a matter of reverential piety. This is both wondrous and terrifying.

Another biblical principle concerns our susceptibility to deception. As fallible creatures we are prone to delusion. And since we are the objects of God’s intense affection, His enemies are our enemies. This includes THE enemy, the Devil, the father of lies (John 8:44), a most formidable and determined adversary. All of the apostolic exhortations to remain sober-minded and alert (1 Corinthians 15:34; 1 Thessalonians 5:4-8; 2 Timothy 4:5; 1 Peter 1:13; 4:7; 5:8) are designed to remind us that we must be vigilant against the wiles of the Devil (1 Peter 5:8), who seeks to ensnare us through deception. Sobriety is also important for prayer (1 Peter 4:7), as is obedience to God (Isaiah 1:10-17).(1)

The fact is, no one can wholeheartedly serve two masters (Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13). Any time spent kneeling before the god of drugs is time spent with your back towards the God of the Bible.

In summary, the Bible teaches us that "denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world" (Titus 2:12).(1)

If you belong to Christ you are not to use drugs

Until recently we wouldnt even need to even address Christians and Marijuana. But we do now.... It should not even be considered in your mind. On very very very rare occassions one might consider it; only be used today if there is no other natural remedy or medication available, (and only if prescribed by a doctor who normally doesnt prescribe it for tummy aches and the other nonsense that some used as baloney excuses before it was legalized in some States >>as a work around to help people do drugs). 99.9% of the time you would not be the one that need would be for you to be given it.  And even if it was you, you might opt not to take it if there's not much difference between using it as medication or just going through the pain. And it has many problems. Though some dying or who have severe MS etc might consider it, but it alters your mind in a few ways and should be avoided, unless very last desperation for relief.

Likewise, similarly...
If you belong to Christ you should not be drinking alcohol. Today's alcohol is higher content than in Bible times, and is very abused in our western culture as it is in asian culture and other plagan nations. It becomes like a drug and has many dangerous pitfalls, and destroys lives and families.

Same with smoking, a Christian should not be participating in that.

Another pagan practice is cutting the flesh, whether for pagan style piercings, tattoos of the dead, or tattoos in general.

Christians should be avoiding all these things to live a life devoted to God, sober minded, and that shows we are set apart and different from those in this world.

If by chance you are doing these things, you need to stop. Repent, and get counseling if you have an addiction.
