Reasons - Considering leaving Christianity *
Q: Hearing lots of bad stories about how people behave in "Christianity", from moral failures to character flaws to other stuff. Just heard a girl has been engaged to a "Christian" guy and they've been "living together" while engaged for 2 years. In the past he apparently raped her and she didnt press charges. She's delusional thinking he loves her and she has gotten so emotionally connected to him over this time that she can't see the red flags, and is not leaving him (so far). He has pressured her again recently to have sex before they get married. Shockingly he is apparently in a Christian music group, and still claims to be a "Christian". Reasons like this have me contemplating leaving Christianity.
A: The girl has clearly been a victim of grooming, manipulation and abuse. She was also encouraged to leave, have time to heal, and start with biblical counseling.
On your main issue here, your actual considering leaving Christianity over that?
Why do you think Christians are automatically perfect? We are not perfect, if you look at your life You are not perfect. So why are you trying to hold believers to an imposdible standard? We are all flawed imperfect humans. But, as believers we are to immitate our lives and model our life after Christ, but...we are still fallen people. We won't be perfected until we enter Heaven.
False converts and false professors have nothing to do with true Christianity. Don't let Satan dupe you.
If you are a Christian you fled to Christ for salvation from sin and coming judgment. And were transformed into a new person who recieved a new righteous nature. You follow Him and read Scripture to grow to be more righteous and obedient to God day after day.
None of that has anything to do with wolves among the sheep. We don't leave the sheep to go live among the wolves unless we were never a sheep to begin with.
Double check and examine yourself to see if you really are saved. If not, turn to Christ. If you are, then cling to Him and keep your eyes, mind and heart focused on Him.
Here are helpful resources. God bless.
If you are in the situation of the gf victim above, this has answers to help. God bless.
