In need of friends
Q:
I need prayer. I don’t really have people around me to pray for me.
I need to make new friendships. My best friend (from middle school to mid high school years) has moved away, and ghosted me... so I have no body now. I’m lonely and don’t know what to do with myself ๐. The town I’m in is small and I have a reputation here, and not many people like me because of my past [before I became a Christian], so I just really want to find a small group of trustworthy friends.
A: Small towns are hard. I grew up in one. There were not even really any neighbors around where I lived. The church I went to didnt really even have any other kids in my age range either. I pray that God brings older women at the church into your life to be brethren, sisters in Christ, and friends. And that you can connect with a youth group at a nearby church; find one that is biblical as close as possible. You might find a couple teens there who are happy to have another sister in Christ in their life. If not, learn what you can in friendships with the older ladies; it can benefit you as you get older.
The good thing about being Christians [being made new] is the world will see your radical change and over time, the even in a small place, the town folk will come to see that. It might even draw them to Christ ๐ค. You could also write out your testimony and hand it out as a gospel tract to share Christ and possibly be an additional tool to "spread the word" that God has changed you.
Not sure how close you are to graduation and heading off to college, but def recommend using this time to "really get in the Scriptures" reading it daily and putting it in your heart, so when you do get to college or move out of town you can walk well in your faith, and meet biblical Christians at church, and/or on Campus who are maturing in the faith. You might be a blessing and help to them too. But at least you will not be lacking biblical knowledge if you put in the time now. *Audio Bibles also help with that.
Heres a load of great resources, and there's a section for young people too.
