Helping children pray?
Modeling is one way. Other ways are when they ask questions ask them to ask Jesus and look for God's counsel on the matter; answer, in the Word.(really helpful when you really don’t know the answer or how to answer - also not a cop out)
When they complain or have emotions they go through or scared, etc. get them to tell Jesus about it & look up what the Bible says on the matter.
When they are looking for a toy they can’t find - let them ask Holy Spirit to help them find it.
Sometimes you just have to go sit with them and you start talking to Jesus. And then give them opportunity to talk to him.
Also meditating biblically is to chew and ponder and examine scripture. Like what does it mean or say about who God is or how he does things.
*Never as a blank mind - we are human and don’t have a blank mind, but we also dont look inside of our sinful heart for answers either.
So definitely even everything they think of they can talk to Jesus about it; including the 100 stories they tell us about the same thing 5 days in a row.
The Lord engages with our mind and hearts, so teach them to take their thoughts and heart and speak it out with Jesus.
It doesn’t even have to be a quiet space - it can be in the everyday moments while life happens. That teaches “praying without ceasing”. By asking the Lord To be part of that moment. Even if their attention span is only 5 seconds.
