Bible time & Christian living helps

Q: I am a teen and am struggling with living the Christian way. My problem is staying in the Bible; having devotion and prayer time. I need helpful tips please!

A: Here are a few ideas!

Create a morning routine:
Set a daily alarm. Use an audio Bible for 15 min of time in the Word.

You can listen to Scripture on the drive to school [car, shuttle, bus] and on way home. For many people that is 30 minutes one way! And that means you can hear the whole Bible in 40 to 80 days!

If bus doesnt really work cuz its only time you have to mingle w friends, then daily right after school when you get home... put books down, change, grab snack, open the Bible and read for 20 uninterrupted minutes. Think on what you read, pray. Close the book then do homework. If you have time before bed, pull out a couple verses from what you read today and read each one 5x. Then go to bed with scripture in you mind.

Where to read:
Heres a bunch of great helps for new and growing believers!

The link has a fundamentals study and a memory verse area, and talks about various Bible reading plans. As well as a section for youth and young adults too.

For starters find an audio bible and
Follow this plan... listen to John, Galatians, Ephesians, Jude, and then start over in Matthew, listen thru Revelation, and then listen and read along from Gen to Revelation.

When you use a Bible for studying, dont use your good one for right now. Get a cheap NASB 95, LSB 21 or NKJV for now.

Highlight the verses that speak on how to live a holy, godly life. As you read through the Bible.

That's a good way to start.

And just apply what you learn.

When you access the Believers Resources noted above, you will find a Reading the Bible section, it has an additional reading plan linked [similar to the above, but a bit broader], do that one for your next read thru the Bible (even if you add audio Bible to it).

You can find audio Bible versions here to pair with the above recommended print version for reading along.

Utilize everything in that New & Growing Believers resources and you will in time mature in the faith. It is packed with really good stuff!

God bless.
