Giving up on Christianity?
Q: I don't wanna be Christian anymore...
Honestly, I think I should quit being a Christian.
I haven't been to church in 2 months because I just don't love God/Jesus. I've read parts of the Bible, been to Bible study almost every Sunday, questioning people about God and nothing. My prayers are never answered.
My older brother, who's an atheist is gaining more and more money from gambling and other things. And I'm envious of him.
I'm severely emotionally numb even before I became a Christian, but it seems so easy for others to love God/Jesus.
I keep thinking there's a lot of contradictions and loopholes to God's promises. Like, is it even a guaranteed or only if we're dead will certain promises be fulfilled. I feel like humanity will find some way to break away to find a loophole to do wrong and lose promises.
I'm tired of feeling nothing for it. And I'm tired of prayers & emotions, they never answered, let alone even be comforted.
A: A saved person cant give up because God has transformed them into a new creation, they have the Holy Spirit in them. Its impossible to become unsaved, and impossible to desire such since one is now restored to who God designed humans to be, and they now live in righteous nature.
When people arent saved they dont know nor love God. It's possible you were a church goer, possibly believed something about God and Jesus, but embraced a false Gospel and hold idolatrous views about God and Jesus [& Christianity] ... which is why none of Christianity makes sense to you. Those spiritually dead need to be born again by God.
We can see "God loves" in that he went to extremes lengths at extreme cost, through Christ who died an extreme death, bearing the eternal wrath of God on Him (for the sins of each person who would ever believe). He did that in the 3 hours of darkness on the Cross, besides the horrors of pain he experienced prior to, on the way to and while on the cross itself.
When one understands that clearly, and the Gospel, he feels like a shot to the heart & falls at the foot of the Cross, at Christ's feet, in contrite heart sees their guilt, unworthiness, and desperate situation it its true light... and in tears over their sins, reaching out desperately for the "free gift of Christ" offered by God's grace, to save them. Then ty live in gratitude towards God, follow Christ, live pursuing holiness and not selfish desires. They love God and Jesus their Savior. They understsnd what it cost to rescue them from sin and death and eternal Hell.
My suggestion is to understand the Gospel really clearly, and understand who God is . If you do then you'll have a very clear understanding, and obey the Gospel call.
The first prayer God hears of the unsaved, is their prayer at salvation. Prior to that he doesnt hear your prayers. After salvation you pray in accordance to His will to be done, and he answers all prayers. It might be he has other plans so its not a yes, it might be not just yet, or no. But if we pray sinful-selfishly its always no.
Once saved you'll not be envious of others/ unsaved sinners who do evil to gain things of the world that are temporary. It's all theyll ever have, if they die in their sins.
But if saved, you, whether you die tomorrow, in a year, or 20 years, when you go you'll be Heavenbound. Your best life will be in eternity. Your focus should be on living fir God, glorifying Him,following Christ, becoming more like Him, and loving God and humans. If saved God transforms you into a new creation, where its normal and natural for you to do so, as God restored you to your original design, having given you spiritual life.
Until you get to Heaven, live content and grateful, as you trust YHWH who guides & provides all his adopted children need.
Read the Bible daily, and pray. Prayer is your talking wuth God and Scripture is God communicating to you.
