Why are there so many fake Christians?!

Q: So tired of finding out so many people are fake “Christians” I keep coming across them in my life. I don’t want to waste my time on them!  I keep meeting old friends from my small hometown and they are so fake it makes me NOT want to be a Christian at all!!

And when I was pregnant I went to a Christian organization to help me to house me and they were the rudest fakest people I have ever met!!! They kicked me out of the facility bc I did not want to attend church every Sunday; I was exhausted from being pregnant.

Also I see all my bullies from my old hometown are all posting “God is good” “ bible verse Bible verse blah blah blah” even though they would literally exclude me from EVERYTHING at school and give me nasty looks.

I’m so done with being a follower of Christ! But it’s conflicting bc being a follows of Christ is ALL I know! My first book was the Bible and my whole LIFE is centered around the Bible but I am DISGUSTED SEEING so many fake Christian’s I am hoping to come across one this week ... I feel like I’m going through a religious crisis here. 😠😔

A: Instead of being upset we should pray for them and try to reroute them to righteous living. We arent perfect. We are all hypocrites.

Theres ways we can reach churchgoers both those who are babes in Christ and false converts.

A lot of times people who are new or weak in the faith have not matured or grown and stagnate. They dont read Scripture and so they quench the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19). Thus they dont know how to live well in righteousness and they arent growing. And it leads to a sinful life.
Pray they get out of that and back on the righteous path. Help them.

We need to be gracious towards these people because likely they have not understood the real gospel yet which means theyre unsaved. They have some Christian background so that is good. Use it. Probe.

An idea is to engage and ask their salvation testimony. If it lacks the Gospel, radical transformation and growth after salvation you can lead them to truth...

*Ask them to share with you how to be saved. Ask how God's holiness factors in. How mans sin. And Jesus.

* Share info on false gospel vs true gospel info such as this free pdf book freewonderfulbook.com. many embraced a false gospel.

* Share self examination resources like this one.

*Ask if they want to ensure theyre really going to Heaven...

*Ask if theyre a good person. If they say yes, show/share  this .

On the other hand, we also need to address problems when professing believers are not living rightly. We need to lovingly come along side and address the issues with the goal of their being right with God (as in repentance & growth), and if they refuse we need to begin church discipline procedures with/thru their church.

Let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins
James 5:20

If need be - at a later time-  treat them as an unbeliever and not fellowship with them.

2 Thessalonians 3:14-15, "Mark this person down and do not associate with them, in order that they may be ashamed. Yet do not consider them an enemy, but warn them as a brother or sister."

Matthew 18:17 "If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a unbeliever"

To counsel on the other matters,
Let me ask... are you following Christians or Christ? Because 1. believers arent perfect. and 2. Jesus is the one Scripture says to follow.

I appreciate and am glad you sought out counsel. I hope I can help.

Proverbs 11:14: "Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety."

Proverbs 15:22: "Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established."

Proverbs 24:6: "For by wise guidance you can wage your war, and in abundance of counsellors there is victory."

I can tell you are hurting, but know we are in a fallen world full of suffering. We wont live in a perfect and sin free place until eternity. I hope this helps...

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. James 5:13

Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11

in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Matt 6:33

Psalm 66:18: "If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened."

Colossians 4:6: "Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone."

Proverbs 15:1: "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger."

"But in your hearts honor Christ as Lord, the Supreme One. 1 Peter 3:15

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." 2 Tim 2:15

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.” Isaiah 26:3

“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.” ‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬-‭13‬ ‭

“I now rejoice, not that you were made sorrowful, but that you were made sorrowful to repentance. For you were made to have godly sorrow, so that you might not suffer loss in anything through us. For godly sorrow produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world brings about death.” (2 Corinthians 7:9–10)

As to the bullies, it sounds like they got saved or are being drawn to God. Forgiveness is a key tenant of Christianity. Not just by God through Jesus in our salvation, but also as we live out that love and grace to others. We should be glad God changed them.

"Have you not heard, if any man is in Christ he is a new creature old has pass away all things have become new". 2 Corinthians 5:17

Mark 11:25  And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Luke 6:27-28 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.

Matthew 5:44  But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

“Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment." John‬ ‭7‬:‭24‬

James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another,

And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

For your pregnancy were you fornicating and ended up pregnant? That's sin & hypocricitical Christian living too... so if you judge them all by your "fake" standard you have to for yourself too.

As far as the place that graciously gave you a place to live, you didnt abide by the rules set for your staying there. You cant blame them for that or your life choices.

It sounds like you are still in school and have made many bad choices in your young life that lead you to where you are now. You cant be mad at others for any of that. You need to repent of many things and attitudes too [to God], and then start walking in righteousness while following Jesus. Make a fresh start with God. 😊🫂✝️💜

"And we urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone." 1 Thessalonians 5:14

"But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin." Hebrews 3:13

"Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another ... and... with gratitude in your hearts to God."Colossians 3:16

“Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭32‬ ‭

Philippians 2:12: " therefore...workout your salvation with fear and trembling"

Proverbs 24:16 For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again 🫂💜✝️

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer Psalm 19:14

I do hope your local church can help you if you are not living at home with your parents. Unless you try to go back to them and restore that relationship & broken trust...which I encourage you to do. God is a miracle worker. Of course there could be varied situations with your guardians/parents and other reasons you ended up pregnant, which you and God know 🫂💔, but He is the healer and the one we should look to to help us thru this sin stained world.

Follow Christ because he is (y)our only hope.

God be with you.
