On Satan

Here is introductory info on Satan.

When people are tempted to sin they are led away by their own sinful desires but also can be tempted by Satan and his demon minions.
Demons are everywhere as are the Angels of God. Did you know everyone who will be saved has an angel guarding them until the Day of Salvation. And that the born again will judge angels? Neat.

Scripture paints the picture of Satan as a dog on a leash...

...he has no control over this world. He can only do what God allows. God is the Sovereign God..So we put our trust in Him who is all powerful, and we fear not Satan nor demons. We need to live as tho were not worried about him or losing to him, but live knowing that the war is already won. We are simply heralders of that victory.

Isaiah had a poem: after Israel was sacked by babylon, in rubble, theres fires to be put out. Looking for loved ones hoping theyre not dead. The watchman sees a heralder is coming and worries they enemy is coming back. He starts to hear the heralder saying "Good news, good news!" And as he gets closer says "The King still reigns! And is coming back!" We born again are heralders of that same Evangelion. The Lord still reigns and is coming back to make all wring things right. If you believe God has already won...then preach, preach victoriously for the sake of the lost.

God uses Satan for His purposes. Satan brought sin into the world thru the Fall. Fallen angels called demons are also here on earth because God threw them down here. Why? Fir His purposes. Did you know God already knew all that would happen on earth before He created the universe? That all believers names were written in the Lambs book of Life before the world even began? Everything across all of humanitys existence was known by God. He directs and allows things to bring about His plan and its for Good, and so all that Satan and the unsaved mean for evil... God turns it out for good. He uses Satan as a puppet or tool to work all things out across all mankinds history; from the first human to the last. Now God is perfect and holy and thus not the author of evil. He uses it tho to bring about Good. So always remember that.

Satan is already defeated. God defeated him in Heaven when he rebelled against God with his minions. Their judgment is damnation in the eternal lake of fire which God made for them. All sinful creatures (fallen angels and unsaved people) will be dealt with on Judgment Day.

So we have 0 fear of Satan. We just need to kill our sins and conquer them so we and he cant tempt us to do evil. We are no fun to him if we dont fall when tempted. He flees from us. So never fear Satan & those who are his, only rightly fear God. Trust Him. He is above all of them.

Concerns over False Teachings/unbiblical teachings:

You are right to want to know about false things, false teachings and things that are lies, and that's why we need to know the Scriptures. Both because it warns against them and also since it reveals truth. Just like with bank tellers illustration. We are to know the real thing so when the counterfeit appears we know its error.
You will see a lot of that warnings in NT about that.

Here are helps.
1. Know the Essentials of Christianity.
Memorize it if you can. Strive to.

That way when false teaching appears a red alert goes off in your mind and you know to avoid those who preach falsehoods. Including so called "churches". Far too many today have believed a false gospel that claims to be protestant but is in actuality a den of demons. And far too many claim to be Christian when actually theyre idolatrous moralists who embraced false teachings. Avoid them. Theyre everywhere online.

*If anyine doesnt believe those essential things, with biblical definitions of those words, theyre not following truth. Avoid them.

2. Read, reread and study the Bible. Particularly Genesis 1-11, and the New Testament. Read John, Romans, Ephesians and all the other NT beyond the gospels. You can save Revelation for last. Read the Bible every day of your life. Memorize verses too.

3. Be a active member at a Bible focused church. Not one that focuses on the pastor or extra teachings that are unbiblical. Always examine what the pastor says against what Scripture says (and not just the verses he shares). One solid pastor you can rely on to preach truth and lead you into biblical understanding is John MacArthur. He's been preaching over 60 years and has produced countless solid pastors from his teachings, seminary and university. You can learn more about him here and you can go through his sermons book by book verse by verse here and via this study bible app too. The app allows you to click any verse to open the resources button to help you understand that passage. This is a free app. He has a study Bible thats helpful as well. A low cost one in print is here.

While you are at a bible focused church you will actively go to Sunday School and worship. You will join other bible studies too. And listen to your pastors sermons. [Prior to the internet this was your sole place for learning and growing in the faith, and still needs to be. It is a commumity pf people who teach and counsel from in the Bible and they have a set of bible belief paramiters they stay within; this is vital]. So get your answers to questions there and supplimentally gotquestions.org can help too. Another reason we to stay within the confines of our church and not ask questions online is theres millions of false people masqurading as Christian (theyre in false religions and cults, and false chirostian "churches") who are actively satanically trying to decieve you online and irl. So Avoid "Christian" groups online. Theyve got very few in there proclaiming & defending the truth. And avoid anyone irl who puts up red flags. Instead, seek friendships and fellowship and helps from those mature believers in your church. Regardless of age. These are brethren you will seek advice from and will help you grow in faith. Start a chat group with ones you grow close to so they can help you outside study class and church gatherings to help support your spiritual growth.

God bless
