Successfully conquering anxiety and depression
Q: How do we handle anxiety and depression?
I need advice how to control it, and Scriptural guidance to overcome it. It is heavy it is not easy & sometimes it comes and goes.
*I also don't read the Bible and am not around people much.
Please keep me in your prayers, I need it desperately.
A: Will pray for you today.
We believers are not alone. God is always with us, and for us. Anxiety and depression are related to not trusting God. We need to rely on Him, trust and believe Him.
One main culprit for sin, insecurity, anxiety and depression is not being in the Scriptures daily. If we are not taking IN God's Word, we cant meditate on it, trust Him, rely on Him and hold to His promises to us that He has revealed in it to us. So it doesnt OUTFLOW from our heart and mind giving us assurance, unless we are IN it and relying on Him.
I recommend you start your mornings hearing the Scriptures for 15 to 20 min while you get ready in the morning. And repeat that portion of Scripture when you make dinner at night. Then during the day, or at least at lunch, meditate on what you read and try to recall 2 main verses. Pray briefly to God thanking Him for the Word, promises, and for renewing your mind, giving you a heart of confidence and trust and chasing away fears and doubts.
This will also help for anxiety and depression.
For socialization, remember that if you are a believer we are adopted into the family if God and our home and life is to be active within the local congregation of believers. We are to be with believers there, forming eternal friendships, serving one another using the Gifts God gave us, and to store up heavenly treasure by good works God has for us to do. We also worship God there, learn and grow in the faith as well. Church matters.
I hope this helps you in obeying God that area as well.
God bless!
